Top Stories: Swifties, Charles Simpson, Global Prayer Movement, @IsaiahSaldivar and Revival!

00 Our Christian Swiftie is a thing. He gets us, is still making news, and there's a revival breaking out on a college campus better known for being a party school. I'm John Madderazo for CharismaNews.com, and these are the top stories of the week. Coming in at number five, our Christian Swiftie is a thing. Abby Trivett wrote this piece here and brings in mention of a small business in Wisconsin that made prayer candles featuring Swift and her NFL star boyfriend, Travis Kelsey. And it's easy to idolize someone the entire world seems to approve of, but what do we as Christians need to do to respond? How should we react? Definitely check that one out. That has been a top article. Next, we have Charles Simpson. He's a pioneer in the charismatic renewal. He passed away on February 14th, and his son, who's now Stephen Simpson, who's now running his father's ministry, made the announcement on social media about that. Please go to the website to check out that story and to read more about this tremendous man of faith. Then we have Dr. Michael Brown's article in the line of fire, a word of encouragement to the global prayer movement.

17 Here we've pinned the interview that he did with Stephen Strang in response to the International House of Prayer situation that is ongoing. Really grateful that Dr. Brown has written this article about how to help the people that are connected with the global prayer movement who are now hurting with this. And so there's people all over that are hurting because of the actions that have happened and how do we move forward? And so definitely recommend reading this article. The link will be in the description of this video. Next, we have Isaiah Saldavar breaking down the controversial He Gets Us Super Bowl ad. Now, he did a reaction video to this, and it's really interesting.

03 Basically, there are some people, some believe it is a gross misrepresentation of Jesus's act of servant leadership when he washed the feet of his disciples, not the feet of unrepentant sinners. On the other side of the coin, people think the reaction to the He Gets Us ad is unnecessary and people need to just calm down. So Isaiah, he starts off his reaction video and finds a discrepancy with the He Gets Us commercial and on their website, what they're actually stating. He finds a discrepancy right away that conflicts the Bible. So you want to tune in to see that and to read about that as well. Now, our final story, which is always exciting to report about revival, that's why Charisma is here. The revival is here. Thousands turn to Jesus at the number two party school. Hundreds are baptized in the fountain. So Florida State University in Tallahassee is where this is happening, and we have reports of people being baptized in the fountain. And this is exciting. The caption here said, it's happening again, FSU baptisms. Hundreds, maybe a thousand students came forward to trust Jesus. We can't explain what's happening apart from the Spirit.

19 So you definitely want to read this article and be encouraged by how God is moving on college campuses. Last year was the Asbury revival. Maybe this year is the Florida State revival, but really we need revival everywhere, not just on college campuses. We need them in churches. We need revival in places of work. We need revival everywhere. So be praying that this continues. And this is a recent article. This has just happened recently. So pray that there is a continued fanning of this flame.
