Brittany is an advisor and an attorney at Joseph Wealth Management, where she has helped so many families. during their estate planning process. Brittany. You know, Geil, thank you. It's really a blessing to be here and be able just to share a little bit about myself as well as what I do here. And I really just enjoy helping families, whether that's building a legacy or creating generational wealth. As Proverbs 13, 22 says that a good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children.

And what I've learned in the years as an advisor. or and even as a state planning attorney is that legacy doesn't just happen by by osmosis right it starts with really it really starts with a plan and so on this show i really gotta just talk about how to create generational wealth and build a legacy and also more importantly protecting it The way God wants, right? Yeah, that's really good. And so we also have with us Dana Gordon. Dana is an advisor with Joseph Wealth Management out of our Atlanta -based office. And so he does a lot with helping clients with their investment as well as financial planning side of the business. Dana. Well, thank you, Geil. I am honored to be here. I work with clients here at Joseph Wealth Management on a consistent basis every day. And what I've learned is this, in 30 years of practice, The numbers only tell half the story, right? Scripture tells the rest.

2:18 I mean, anybody can hand you a portfolio, but when you understand that God is the owner and you're the stewards, it makes all the difference in the world. Money starts working towards something bigger than just a balance, right? So on this show, I'm going to be bringing the practical side, okay? Investments, planning, strategy, through the lens of biblical stewardship. Now, it's my hope. Yeah. That every time you hear from me, you walk with something that you can actually do. Anything that God has placed in your hands. Yeah. You know, I like what you said about actually giving them something to do. You know, that's one of the most important parts of parts of the financial planning process. It's beyond just trying to get an advisor, but it's what are you going to do so that we can fulfill this plan? So let's go ahead and get into our next question. What is Joseph Wealth Management?

3:13 Joseph Wealth Management is a registered investment advisory firm, part of Dr. Winston's vision, a vision for God's people to be equipped, empowered, and positioned to be a blessing in the earth. You know, we are a wealth management firm that's built on kingdom principles, headquartered here, of course, in the Chicagoland area. Now, a lot of people oftentimes ask us, which I think is a funny question, how do we come up with the name Joseph, right? And what people don't know is it actually comes out of the story in Genesis. is 41. You know, it talks about that there was a man named Joseph who stood before Pharaoh at that time, who was like a king. And what ended up happening is that he interpreted a dream that he had, which was there will be seven years of plenty followed by seven years of famine. And so what's essential about that process is really the core foundation of what we do. We help people prepare before there is famine. Would you agree?

4:06 I agree. And that's really what I like about the story of Joseph. Joseph had a vision, right? I gave him a vision and he acted upon it. He acted upon it well before the seven years of famine. You know, God told him there's going to be seven years of abundance and then seven years of famine. And because of him acting, he had more than enough. He had an abundance and it wasn't just enough for himself. It was enough to feed a whole nation, enough to feed his family, and even to feed other nations that came from far and all over the Middle East to come and buy grain from him. And that positioned Joseph to be a leader at that global time, you know, be a leader. Yep. You know what I like about what you just said, Brittany? It actually brings out something scripturally that I've never really thought about in context. And that's the fact that because Joseph had prepared for the seven years of, and during the seven years of plenty, that when the seven years of famine came, what she said was, is it didn't just sustain him and his family, it sustained the nation, but then it also brought other nations to him, which is important because of this. You prepare, right?

5:18 So those of you who are watching, when you prepare, when you have plenty, that when salmon comes. you could be the benefactor of those who did not prepare. Right. Or as we say, the laundering out the bar. There you go. So this goes beyond just building reserves. This is where we talk about governance. We're talking about structure and putting the right systems in place where ultimately you're no longer just surviving, but you're thriving no matter whatever the economic condition. What is our mission? Well, our mission is to provide faith -based wealth management where we align financial stewardship with biblical principles, which enables our clients to grow their wealth while honoring God through service.

6:03 Wait, Dana. Okay. Can we break it down? What does that even really mean? Gladly. Well, pretty much. Because everything matters, faith -based wealth management. Scripture is not an afterthought. It's the foundation of how we advise. So we align financial stewardship with biblical principles, and that's the recognition that everything we have belongs to God. And by the way, we're managers. We're not owners. God is the owner of everything. So we enable our clients to grow their wealth while at the same time honoring God. And by the way, God wants us to prosper. Yeah. I'm going to say that again. God wants us to prosper. Okay?

6:53 Because prosperity has purpose. Yeah, that's good. And you know what? Prosperity isn't just about finances, right? Right. You know, you want to prosper in your health. Yes. And your finances. Finances is actually a byproduct of true prosperity of the soul. Yeah. Yeah. That's beautiful. Yeah. I like that. So what makes us unique from other financial advisory archives? Well, you know, really this comes down to one phrase and you're going to hear it several times throughout many episodes is that we do business while doing good. And so what that essentially means is that part of your investment goes into some of our other organizations. And for instance, there's the RISE program where we're literally going into Cook County Jails and we are teaching. financial literacy we're teaching inmates how to create budgets yeah we're teaching inmates how to really have practical real life skills right and as pastor will winston likes to say we're turning jails into boarding schools right and so that is this is like really one of my favorite parts of the joseph strauss treasury program you know part of what you just said it also reminds me of practically, of that we do business while doing good is the Joseph Business School. It's the four -month program. And so for those who may not be familiar with the Joseph Business School, it's a four -month program that focuses on entrepreneurship, but bringing entrepreneurship to those that are low -income communities that otherwise would not even think about being an

8:25 entrepreneur. You know, it's funny because oftentimes people always have this job mentality. So all you know is to wake up and go to work. And we already know that as advisors, that majority of the wealth that we see, even in the stock market, comes from business ownership. All of these people in the market are actual company owners. And so it's beautiful that the Joseph Business School is actually equipping the next generation of business owners to get to that point where they can possibly create a legacy or even IPO one day. That's beautiful. And Dana, I think you know a bit about the Eden Career Institute, correct? Yes, I do. So the Eden Career Institute is a pre -apprenticeship program, which allows people to, if they don't have any funds, you know, they provide a, we provide a subsidy if also they want to get involved in the trades, like construction. That's a big one. Yeah. Okay.

9:17 And so people come in, they get this nice subsidy, they can, you know, go to do this construction work. And it's just an awesome thing. Right. So the part of the Joseph Eden Career Institute. The program is that we're providing subsidies for these people to go to school. Yes. And so they can literally take those funds and pay for daycanner or transportation. Yes. And they can really just focus on the education. Absolutely. That's a blessing. That's really the core heartbeat of the Joseph Storehouse Treasury Program. It's really talking about legacy with impact. So not are you just investing, but you're investing to make an impact that helps someone else's life.
