Introduction

Dr. Steve Greene: The last chapter of my book Love Leads addresses the notion of leaving a legacy. The older we get the more concerned we become with that footprint we hope we've made during our journey on earth. Most of us want the peace of mind to know that we walked, we ministered and yes, we mattered. Of course, the size and the impact of our legacy has much to do with the size and impact of our platform. My grandmother left a legacy through her grandchildren, and of course, her petunia garden. But someone like Randy Clark, my guest today, will leave a much larger legacy, and we'll learn more about that in just a moment. Many leaders like to point at bank accounts, buildings built, perhaps even the books they've written as a marker of their legacy. To simplify matters, we can simply refer to Hebrews 11 for examples of enduring legacies. There's not a better legacy than what we read about in that Hall of Faith. Yes, indeed, faith seems to me to be interwoven in legacy, but I think a bigger issue emerges when I seek to measure my legacy. I think it's almost egomaniacal to think about my legacy. Whatever I've said or done by the end of my life should speak for itself. If I follow the Holy Spirit, I should have no concerns about what remains after my body does not. My motive in legacy is for love to remain. If I have consistently maintained the depth of myself, it'll show inthe people I’ve had the honor to teach, to mentor and impact. The apostles built people as they were taught to build. Their legacy is detailed and how they taught as they walked. My guest today is Dr. Randy Clark, who in fact is an eye witness the miracles; he writes about that. He's an overseer of Global Awakening and the Apostolic Network of Global Awakening. He is probably best known for his work with the Toronto Blessing, but his life has been so much more than just that initial touch. He's done so much and I'm glad we get to talk with him today. I happened to be blessed to see him minister at the Jesus Image Conference here in Orlando. I saw his effect on a crowd of passionate young people as signs and wonders literally began to flow from his ministry right in front of our eyes. Dr. Clark, it just an understatement to say that I'm honored to welcome you to the Greenelines podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network. God wants to use you

you in this podcast, brother.

I just want to start in a little bit different way, Dr. Clark. It’s simple. Where have you been lately and tell us about what you see as you've been ministering.

Randy Clark: In December, I was in Brazil working in a traditional Baptist church, one of the largest in the nation. They were telling me that about 12 years earlier, they had a church of about 300 and they had gone through just a really bad time with a dark cloud over them, with an embarrassment and confusion. The pastor had met me in Toronto originally and I walked by him and prayed for him and walked off and turned around. He told me because I didn't remember this. He said, ‘You turned around, came back after you had already ministered to five more people. You came back to me and you prophesied what I was going through what our church was going through.’ He was powerfully touched. Then he invited me to his church. It was a traditional Baptist church in the middle of the city with a lot of highly influential people that were in it, but they were in decline and embarrassment. There had been some moral failure with the preceding pastor. This guy was a business man that was without a lot of training for ministry that had come into the church. So he said, it was amazing when you came. We had a little team of 11 people with us and we taught and prayed. God came in touch with people. I came back 12 years later and he said, I want you to know that we have grown to …. I think there's like 16,000 in the city that’s part of their church and they have 30,000 in daughter churches combined with the Mother Church and they had started 300,000 groups through churches they had influenced, with over 3 million people in those groups. I said, Well, what do you want me to do? He said, we're tired; it’s very exhausting to see all this growth. We were so touched and encouraged and strengthened to do what we've done. But now we're tired. Everything's going well, but we're just exhausted. We need more of the Holy Spirit. So, we need what you brought the first time to happen again. We had an amazing three days of meetings there. So that's one of the most exciting meetings I've had in a while as far the impact and learning about the power of impartation. Then recently I was in Texas at a church in Dallas called Trinity. We had a wonderful meeting there, some significant healings. I'm getting ready to go back to the Houston area to the Woodlands Church with a young man who was with me, the senior pastor there in Brazil, last year. There have been more healings there in one day than I've seen in my whole life. So, looking forward to going this Saturday and Sunday to that church in Woodlands.

Dr. Steve Greene: Well, these are exciting times. I was able, as I said, in my preamble to see you at the Jesus Image Conference. How did that strike you? What did you see as you ministered to, I'll guess, 8 to 10,000 young people?

Randy Clark: I was really excited at the age. It was a younger crowd. I was very touched by their hunger and impressed with the visitation of the Spirit. It was quite powerful and, at one point, pretty much getting exhausting to me.

Dr. Steve Greene: I don't know how you did it. I watched the throng. It was a mosh pit and you were in the middle of it. It was amazing. I loved seeing it. It made my heart beat faster. But I needed to get out of the way because there was so much happening, that there were bodies moving around at great haste. There was a lot happening there. It was exciting.

Randy Clark: I was just really excited about it. I just met some of the guys that just came back from working in Redding, California with Bill Johnson at his school. Several of the people, including some of the key leaders at Jesus 2018, were there, and just telling me about some of the significant changes they've seen in their church, like Michael, who is Benny Hinn’s son-in-law. He has a church there, I guess in Orlando. He said, Randy, what we've seen since those meetings, the increase of the healings has been amazing.

Dr. Steve Greene: It was imparted, Dr. Clark. It was more than just healing people. It was imparting that healing gift. I saw it. You just know things. I don't like to label it as discernment, but it was something close to that that. You could just see there was something fresh and new that was being imparted.

Randy Clark: I just really love these young guys and gals that are so sold out to God. I love it when I see God just touch them powerfully.

Dr. Steve Greene: Tell us a little bit about Global Awakening. Because you're doing this kind of work in your training and teaching and mentoring. I want to hear about your view of Global Awakening and what you're up to.

Randy Clark: Several years ago, about five years ago now, I guess my board asked me … we've been in existence since Toronto, and when I went there, and that revival broke out … I was there 42 of the first 60 days. We’ve just been growing a lot with the things we’re doing. My board said, Randy, you're doing a lot, but we need to keep you focused on the most important thing. What do you think is the most important thing of everything you're doing? I said, I think the most important thing I have do the rest of my life is to raise up more young men and women who move in this anointing and to mentor them. I think that's gonna be the most important thing. So everything I do, going back to my roots … I was I was in the Baptist Church, American Baptist Church when God first touched me powerfully with the Holy Spirit. Then I felt like God led me to the Vineyard for 17 years. Then when I moved here on a prophecy to the east coast, I knew that I was to be leading leaders. So, we started a network of churches and ministries that that I oversee. Out of that, a school that's a two-year non-accredited school called Global School of Supernatural Ministry. Out of that, most of my interns that I've trained, not all of them, but most of them, have come through that school. Out of my associates who are on staff being paid by the ministry that are full time, they've all been selected from my interns. So, I've had 40 some odd people that has traveled with me for up to a year. Sometimes there's more than one of course because I've only been doing this for about 25 years since Toronto. A lot of those people are in full-time ministry as missionaries, as evangelists, as prophets, as teachers, those moving toward pastoring apostolically. So, I see such a great fruit from that. It's such an honor to sew into these young guys and young women, helping them just become all that God has for them. I'm focused on equipping the saints for the work of ministry, Ephesians 4:11-12. I learned that value under John Wimber. There's a heavy influence on my life from him. But there’s also the influence on loving the whole church, so I get to preach and minister usually to national meetings of pastors or regional meetings of pastors and from all over.

Everything we try to do, we ask, is this going to equip the saints for the work of ministry? Because that's our main value. As we do that, looking out for the next young men and women that I need on my staff to continue when I have to step away down in the future sometime that what God has done with me continues through the sons and daughters that have the values that I have, that have the same value for the whole church, love the church, to equip the saints to raise up servant leaders and to give away what you have because the more you give away the more you get.
