Who or What Is the Holy Spirit?
Is the Holy Spirit an impersonal power, or God himself up close and personal? Walk verse by verse through 14 truths about the Holy Spirit in the Hebrew Bible and 28 more in the New Testament, and see how the Spirit empowers, teaches, guides, speaks, and can even be grieved, lied to, and resisted. You'll come away with a clear biblical case for the Spirit's personhood, drawn from the Tanakh first and then expanded in the New Covenant writings. Then ask yourself the closing question: are you living in the fullness of the Spirit?
Note: With reference to Ezekiel 11:5, the Hebrew indicates that the Spirit (feminine) fell upon Ezekiel, and the Lord (masculine) told him to declare. When Dr. Brown explained that the one who told Ezekiel to speak was the Spirit, he meant that the text clearly indicated this was the result of the Spirit coming on the prophet. In other words, in this way, the Lord told Ezekiel to speak – by the Spirit.
