Today on this broadcast, I'm gonna be teaching you on the purpose and the power of praying in other tongues our last episode we talked about the baptism of the holy spirit and that the outward manifestation of being filled with the holy spirit is speaking with other tongues and so we're going to dive into why it's so powerful that we use and stir up heavenly language but before we do by way of introduction I just want to say that when we pray in tongues or exercise our heavenly language this heavenly language can be used for the prayer of intercession the prayer of dedication and consecration it could be used in the prayer of worship It could be used in times when you just don't know how to pray. So there's many reasons why a person needs to stir up and exercise their prayer language once they have received the baptism

1:31 of the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking with other tongues. Now, Jesus spoke often about the Holy Spirit and his coming. The New Testament. uh the holy spirit is actually spoken of 264 times and 60 or more the holy spirit is spoken of in the gospels um as a matter of fact jesus the very last words he spoke before he went up into the clouds was he said listen he told the disciples don't do anything don't go anywhere until you be endued with power from on high You're going to receive the Holy Spirit, but wait to the promise that I'm telling you about. Stay and don't do anything until he is manifested on the earth. So the very last words that Jesus spoke of was about the Holy Spirit. and his coming.

2:38 Now, when the day of Pentecost had fully come, you can read it in Acts chapter two, verse one through four. When the day of Pentecost had fully come, the Bible says that they were all in one place, in one accord. They were waiting on God, waiting on the Lord. And what happened is the Holy Spirit was poured out. And we call this the birth of the church age. And the Holy Spirit was poured out. And the very first thing that happened and was manifested was that they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. and began to speak with tongues as the spirit gave them utterance so the baptismal he spirit and the release of tongues was very important at the birth of the church age okay so i was recently speaking in a church And I was talking on the subject of tongues that we're talking about today. And the spirit of prophecy came upon me. And the Lord said to us, he said, there is going to come a surge of tongues into my church, into my body.

3:49 And the Lord said that many have neglected their prayer language. They've not understood their prayer language. They don't know why. The Holy Spirit was poured out when the Spirit of God manifested Himself by releasing tongues into the earth. He said, but there's going to be a surge of tongues released into the body of Christ. He said, because I... I am going to be doing in these last days some great and mighty things. And therefore, I need my people to stir up their prayer language because I need them to begin to pray in the Holy Ghost, stir up their prayer language. So it can once again prepare the way.

4:35 It can once again cause that which I desire to do to become manifested into the earth. And I think we've come out of a season. where people have been in what we called seeker -friendly churches. People weren't speaking in tongues. You didn't see any moves of God in the churches. There was no falling under the power, no gifts of the Spirit in operation. But my friends, I just want you to know that all that is in the process. Of changing. And I don't know why I'm hearing in my spirit right now. The Bible says Jeremiah 33, three call upon me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things. So God desires to show us great and mighty things, but we've got to dive in deeper in our prayer life. We've got to begin to stir up our prayer language, stir up the gift of tongues that he has given to us. Those of us that have received the baptism, the Holy. spirit also i would just like to share with you that in our meetings on the road we're seeing a lot of hungry believers we're seeing a lot of hungry christians And they're coming forward and they're desiring to be baptized with the Holy Spirit. And we're seeing lines of people asking to be filled with the Holy Spirit and releasing their prayer language. So we're already seeing this surge of tongues beginning

6:05 to manifest in the church. And I'm very excited about it because I feel like. The body of Christ in a measure has been somewhat bored with church as usual. Well, God by his spirit, by the Holy Spirit is going to be invading our services, invading our homes, invading our prayer meetings, because yes, I'm hearing it. He desires to show us some great and mighty things. So I'm going to talk to you in this broadcast on the power and the purpose. of praying in tongues but before we do i have to just say this because some people have come to me with this question or with this comment they've said to me well margie you know it's just not my gift it's not my gift it's not my gift to speak in tongues well i have two answers to that number one The Lord, the disciples came to a group of believers and he said to the disciples, have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed?

7:11 And they said, we have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And the Bible says that they laid hands on them, Acts 19, and they released their prayer language. So they were believers. but they had not yet received the Holy Ghost, meaning the empowerment from on high, the baptism of the Holy Ghost, meaning that which is within them rising up like John 7, 38 and flowing up out of them. So this gift of tongues is for every believer. The Bible says these signs will follow them, accompany them that. believe, March 16th, they will speak with other tongues. So speaking in tongues is for every believer. It is, yes, your gift. God has not chosen one over here, one over there to have this prayer language.

8:09 No, this release of your prayer language is for all. We're going to go ahead. We're going to dive into another scripture to prove to you that this is for you, but First we're going to take a break. Early in 2025 I had a dream that I'd like to share with you. I dreamed I was a guest speaker in a church. During the preaching I had a vision of a great ship. I saw the ship going straight and it was moving fast and furious ahead on the water. Then I saw the ship suddenly turning to the right. I said to the people, the ship is turning, but we must continue to pray into it. It's not in time to stop praying. I could see that the ship was turning and the church was at the helm of the ship. causing the ship to turn. Upon awakening, God gave me an assignment, and the assignment was, and still is, to mobilize prayer. We are praying together on our KIU prayer conference call. I would love it if you could join us. 9:38 that speaking in tongues is, quote, not your gift. I'll tell you where you've heard teaching on that. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians chapter 12, now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant. Another translation says, actually in the Greek, now concerning things pertaining to and of the Holy Spirit, I don't want you to be ignorant. And he goes on, he begins to teach us about the gifts of the Spirit, the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit. And it says here in verse 7, it says here, but the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all, for to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom. Now, just really quick, this is not our teaching. The word of wisdom is knowledge given to a person of things pertaining to things that have not yet been born, things that are not yet revealed, things that have not yet come to pass. In other words, things pertaining to and of the future. So he said, for to one is given the word of wisdom through the spirit to another, the word of knowledge.

11:00 Now the word of knowledge is things pertaining to things that are in the present and things that have happened in the past. It's not a whole sentence. It's a word of what God knows about a particular situation, circumstance. Okay. And then it says, To another, faith by the same spirit. To another, gifts of healings by the same spirit. To another, the working of miracles by the same spirit. These are what we call the power gifts. The gift of faith, gifts of healings, and the working of miracles. These are the gifts that Catherine Coleman had in manifestation in her ministry, okay? God just decided, I'm going to empower this woman with the power gifts because...

11:47 This is going to equip her to win souls, okay? Because the Bible says many believed on Jesus because of the miracles. So miracles are basically signs pointing to that Jesus is still alive, that he is the way, the truth, and the life. So this is the gifts that God gives to an individual, a ministry, and it empowers them, and it's for public assembly. It's for people, for other people. and then it goes on to say to another prophecy to another discerning of spirits to another different kinds of tongues to another interpretation of tongues but one and the same same spirit works all these things distributing to them severally as he wills so that's where people get the idea well this tongues isn't for me because it's quote not my gift but what is god is saying is This particular gift of diverse kinds of tongues is for public assembly. In other words, a person will have an unction or an anointing to speak in tongues. And then someone comes along or that person and interprets what was spoken in tongues.

13:07 And they have a gift. It's a gift of tongues. an interpretation of tongues and so that's their gift and not everybody has that gift i personally operate a lot in tongues and interpretation actually now more than ever operate in prophecy but in essence tongues and interpretation of tongues equals prophecy i said all that to say that the the baptism of the holy spirit with evidence of speaking in other tongues is for every single believer that desires to have this release of their prayer language. The Apostle Paul said, I thank my God. I speak in tongues more than you all. So he stirred up the gift of God that was within him. He exercised his prayer language.

13:58 And we're going to get into it, but there was reasons. why the Apostle Paul exercised his prayer language. I'll just put one of them out here right now. The Apostle Paul wrote two -thirds of the New Testament. So he had a lot of wisdom. He had a lot of revelation. He had a lot of insight into the scriptures. And that's the beauty of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. For me personally, when I first got filled with the Holy Spirit, I was born again. I was a child of God. I understood the heart of the Father to a degree. But when I got filled with the Holy Spirit and released my prayer language, suddenly the Word of God opened up to me. It opened up to me with... what we would call revelation. Things that were written just came alive. And I saw things with the eyes of my spirit that I had never seen before. And the baptism of the Holy Spirit will open up the door for you to have more revelation in the Word of God. Okay, so we're going to talk more about the purpose and the power of praying in tongues.

15:07 One reason that it's important for all of us to be filled with the Holy Spirit and release our prayer language is because it is a supernatural means of communication. It's supernatural. You're not praying from your mind. You're not praying from your intellect. You're not praying with knowledge that you know in your head. in your thought life you are praying with the knowledge that god knows and the solution to that knowledge or if you have a question as to what god knows so it is a super natural means of communication the bible says in first corinthians 14 2 for he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to god For no one understands him. However, in the spirit, he speaks mysteries. Another translation says divine secrets. So when you exercise your prayer language and you pray in tongues or you pray in the spirit, you are speaking to God.

16:18 I love this. The language of heaven. The Lord spoke to me one day. He said, Margie, many of my people desire to be intimate with me. They desire to spend time with me. They desire to have a vibrant prayer life, but they just don't know where to begin. They just don't know how to start. So I wrote this book with that in mind. Encountering God through prayer. Go into a closet if you have to.

17:06 Shut the door. Just begin where you are. And I teach the reader about the heart of the Father. Because if you don't know who God is, you're not going to understand His character and His nature, and you'll be afraid of Him. So I go into the heart of the Father. Who is the Father? What's His character? What's His nature? And then I take the reader all the way up into... what I call contemplative prayer. 17:58 So we said that your spirit is praying or... communicating with God. Can you imagine when you pray in tongues, any kind of prayer you pray anyway, when it's projected to God, he hears you, right? But when you pray in tongues, you are praying or you're communicating to God. And it is like we said, the language. heaven. Let's read first Corinthians 14, 14 and 15. It says here, if I pray in a tongue, my spirit praise, my spirit praise. Remember we said you are a spirit, my spirit praise. Your spirit man is the real you. So when you pray in tongues, my spirit. Like we said in the last broadcast, but you do the speaking. God uses your voice, your vocal cords, but it's your spirit praying. But he's praying through you, through your mouth, through your vocal cords, through your body.

19:09 And you are communicating with God. So if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays. But my understanding is unfruitful. What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the understanding. And then he goes on to say, I will sing with the spirit. I will sing with the understanding. I want you to notice he said, I will pray. So those of you that have not yet released your prayer language. I want you to notice these two words that might help you in understanding that the Holy Spirit is not going to come upon you and make you say or do something you don't want to say or do. You have to yield to him. You have to yield over to the Holy Spirit.

20:06 When you sense something on the inside of you rising up, it's almost like a bubbling up. of you it's up to you to release that language through your voice through your vocal cords notice he said I will pray with the spirit I will pray with the understanding also and then he says I can also sing with the spirit I can sing in tongues I can sing with the understanding also Have you ever been in a church service where everyone was singing, you know, the hymns and the songs and they were all in their known language?

20:46 Or if you're in the United States of America, the English language or Spanish, whatever, they're singing in their known tongue. But then there's another language that goes beyond the language from this earth. And it's tongues. And then everybody just begins to sing in tongues. And it's such a beautiful thing when everyone releases their prayer language together because it sounds so beautiful. And there's a harmony about it. There's a symphony about it. It's beautiful. If you've ever experienced anything like that. I just think it's one of the most amazing things and amazing times of worship when we're all singing in tongues, singing in the spirit. Let's look at 1 Corinthians 14, 14. Here's the amplified. For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit, and listen how it says, by the Holy Spirit within me prays.

21:41 but my mind is unproductive. So you can be singing in tongues or speaking in tongues or praying in tongues, but your mind doesn't understand what you're saying. Your mind is unproductive, but you're producing results in the realm of the spirit when you are praying in tongues, whether you think you are or not, whether you feel like you are. or not. You're praying the language of heaven and this kind of prayer is powerful. So your spirit by the Holy Spirit within you is speaking to God. You are not praying from your mind. This is a pure and very unselfish prayer. You are not praying your own will on a person or even for yourself. You are praying in line with the will of God, and it is a very pure prayer. There is no pride involved, no reason, no selfish ambition. It is a pure language that originates from the heart of God back to the heart of God. And as a result, he accomplishes his will in the earth on the behalf of another.

23:04 if that's the prayer focus when you pray in tongues, or even in your own life when you release it. Bill Hammond once said, those who have been born of the Spirit and baptized with the Spirit receive a spirit language. This gives the believer a private communication line direct to God's throne, which cannot be understood or hindered by the devil or natural man. It's like having one's own private cell phone to heaven. However, it is more designed to be used for more than communication to God in prayer. So this language has a lot of reasons that we need to do in releasing it.

23:56 So praying in tongues is also praying in line with God's perfect will, purpose, We're going to go ahead and we're going to read from Romans 8. Verse 26 says, Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought. Notice it says we do not know what we should pray. We know how to pray. We need to be praying more in tongues. But sometimes we don't know what we should pray for. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

24:42 Now he who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is because he makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. What's the result? And we know that all things work together for the good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to his purpose. So when we pray in tongues, we are praying according to the will of God. So we're not deviating from the will of God when we pray in tongues. We are praying his plans. We are praying his purposes. We are praying according to his will. I like to put it like this. Now, some of you will not know what this is, but those of you that are a little older will remember when we used to play darts. Okay. The dart, there was a dart board. You'd put it up on the wall and you'd have these little darts and you'd throw that dart. And the goal was to hit the center right on. When you pray in tongues, you're like that person with the dart. You're shooting that dart and you're hitting the target center right on. You are not missing the mark when you pray in the Holy Ghost. You're praying accurately and you're praying. according to the will of
