Goes into the hearts of the people, doesn't return void, it produces results. Welcome to our broadcast, Prayer and Purpose, and I'm your host, Margie Florent. We're gonna go ahead and we're gonna continue. on the subject of the purpose and the power of praying in tongues. I just want to remind you that Jesus spoke often about the Holy Spirit and his coming. As a matter of fact, in the New Testament alone, the Holy Spirit is spoken of 264 times with 60 or more in the Gospels. As a matter of fact, The last words that Jesus spoke before he went up into the heavens, he said, don't do anything until you be endued with power. from on high because you're gonna receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you so wait until this promise is manifested and when the day of Pentecost had fully come the the believers were in the upper room and the Bible says that the Holy Spirit was poured out and when he was poured out he came in like a rushing mighty wind. And the Bible

1:30 says he sat upon them. And the word of God goes on to say that the initial sign of the manifestation of the Holy Spirit was not just his presence, but that they all began to speak. in other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance so that leads me to believe that tongues is an essential part of the believers walk with god and it's essential that we stir up the gift of god that is within us and that tongues has a part to play in our walk with God, in our empowerment as a believer, as well as in our prayer life. We're not going to go into all the things that we said in our last broadcast. I just want to pick up where we left off, and that is praying in tongues is praying in line with God's perfect will, purpose, and order. I believe that the reason why more people aren't using their prayer language is because they don't understand this biblical proof, this biblical proof that the Bible talks about.

2:44 So praying in tongues is the perfect prayer. We're going to go ahead and reread Romans chapter 8. Verse 26, it says here, likewise, the spirit also helps in our weakness, for we do not know what we should pray for as we ought. But the spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now he. Who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the spirit is because he makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And the scripture goes on to say, and we know. That we know that we know I added the know that we know, but we know that all things work together for the good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. So we said praying in tongues is praying in line with God's perfect will, purpose and order. So when you and I pray in tongues and we stir up. the gift of God that is within us. My friends, we are praying his plans. We are praying his purposes and we are praying according to the will of God.

4:12 Times that we don't know how to pray. Times where we're at a loss for words, times when our children are struggling and we don't know exactly how to pray after we've prayed all the scriptures. We can trust the ministry of the Holy Spirit to help us pray in perfect order according to what they need in their lives. So it says here when we pray in tongues, we are praying according to. The will of God. Now the spirit and the word, they agree. So when you are praying in tongues, you are praying in agreement with the scriptures.

4:56 The Holy Spirit does not deviate from the word of God. Neither does praying in tongues. But when we pray. in tongues, we are praying about things we don't know. We are praying about things we don't understand in our mind. We are praying about things that have not been revealed to us in this natural realm. But the Holy Spirit knows. He knows everything. The Bible says he searches the hearts and he knows what is the mind of the spirit and he makes intercession according to the will of God. So the Holy Spirit knows everything. He knows exactly what the needs are and he knows exactly how to pray according to those needs.

5:40 Now, you've heard me say this before. I'll say it again. Prayer opens up the door for God to work. So when we pray in tongues, we are opening up the door for God to work in the realm of the spirit. We don't always know. What is happening in the spirit when we are praying in tongues? But I can guarantee you that praying in the Holy Ghost is praying according to the will of God, his plans, his purposes and his will, not just for your life, but also in the prayer of intercession on the behalf of other people. Now, I'm going to go ahead before we take a break here, and I'm going to read you from first John. chapter five and this is very exciting because it says here in first john 5 14 now this is the confidence i love that word confidence this is the confidence that we have in him that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us and if we know he hears us Whatever we ask, we know we have the petitions we have asked of him. So my friends, we said it when the word of God said it. Most importantly, when you pray in tongues, you are praying according

7:12 to the will of God. And when you do, you can have confidence. You can have confidence that not only does he hear you, but whatever you've prayed in tongues. You can know that you have the petitions that you have desired of him. So I just want to encourage you just to pray more in the Holy Ghost. We said it in our last broadcast. You are not praying out of your head. You are praying out of your heart. It's your spirit by the Holy Spirit within you making expression and praying according to. the will of God. Okay.

7:58 We're going to take a break here and we're going to continue our teaching when we get back. The Lord spoke to me one day. He said, Margie, many of my people desire to be intimate with me. They desire to spend time with me. They desire to have a vibrant prayer life, but they just don't know where to begin. They just don't know how to start. So I wrote this book with that in mind. Because if you don't know who God is, you're not going to understand his character and his nature, and you'll be afraid of him. So I go into the heart of the Father. Who is the Father? What's his character? What's his nature? And then I take the reader all the way up into what I call contemplative prayer. So let's continue with our teaching. So we know that when we pray in tongues or pray in the Holy Spirit, we are praying according to the will of God. But it doesn't just stop there. Notice in Romans 8, it says, and all things work together for the good to them who love God and are called according to his purpose. So when you pray in tongues, you pray in the Holy Ghost. It sets in motion for all things to work together for your good, for the plan and the purpose of God for your life.

10:11 Let me just share a brief story with you. This is this is one of my favorite stories to share. When I was getting ready for ministry and preparing for ministry, I spent. weekends with God. Month after month after month after month, I spent weekends with God. praying seeking god i didn't know what to pray how to pray i had just graduated from bible school i was uncertain about my future i was uncertain as to where i should live i was uncertain as to where i should go so i would pray the scripture i would pray things like father i thank you that you go before me and you you know you order my steps you said in your word that the steps of a good man are ordered and established by you. I thank you that your word says that. And then I would pray the scripture that Lord, now I just pray that you would go before me and prepare the way, make the crooked way straight and the rough places plain. And after I prayed everything I know to pray, according to the scriptures, I just went ahead and prayed in tongues. So Weekend after weekend after weekend, I would walk the floors in my apartment and I would pray in tongues. I would pray in the spirit.

11:38 I would pray like this. I thank you, Father, that all my steps are ordered and established by you. I trust in you with all of my heart. I lean not to my own understanding, but I acknowledge And you would say to me, well, Margie, did you know what you were praying about? I didn't know what I was praying about. All I knew was that the Bible says that when you pray in tongues or pray in the Holy Ghost. all things work together for the good. I didn't understand that when I was praying in tongues, I was going into the realm of the spirit and I was bringing things by the spirit into divine alignment, that all my days are numbered in his book, that he knows all the plans he had for me, plans to prosper me and not harm me. But I didn't know what those things were. So I would pray in tongues and I prayed an hour. And I prayed two hours. Sometimes on a Saturday night, I would just pray three hours. And this went on and on and on. Till one day, I received an invitation to come to the east coast of the United States, specifically

13:09 New Jersey. And I was asked to speak at a conference. And I accepted that invitation. And when I came to the east coast of the United States, We had a powerful meeting. I made some new friends. I made some new connections. And then as time went on, one door opened and then another door opened and then a church opened and then another church opened and things just began to open and blossom. And I just want you to understand, I was very young at the time. I was only like 23 years old. And God was just opening up all these doors. I was anointed. I mean, it was amazing.

13:50 To be honest, it was totally amazing because I knew who I was and I knew who God was. And I knew that this wasn't from me. Even the gift and the calling wasn't from me. I had a grace. I had an anointing. I would get up with like four scriptures and a little piece of paper, and I would preach my heart out. People would get saved. People would get filled with the Holy Spirit. And back in the day, we would have three nights of revival, and we just had a major move of God. And eventually, I ended up on the east coast of the United States, specifically, again, New Jersey. And one day, somebody came up to me and said, wow, you know, how did you build your ministry? Like, how did this happen for you? And I was just like, well, I don't know how it happened. You know, yeah, I obeyed God.

14:40 Yeah, I took some steps of faith, but I don't really know how all these connections happened and how this anointing came and how just these alignments came. And one day I was praying and the Holy Spirit whispered something into my heart. And he said to me, do you? remember all those weekends? I could feel the Holy Ghost. All those weekends you spent with me. He said that was not wasted time. He said that was not only preparation time for what you are walking in today. He said, but when you prayed in tongues, you prayed according to the will of the Father, the will of God. for your life you you by your prayers and by my spirit made the crooked way straight the rough places plain the mountains and the hills broke before you into and into singing the trees of the field clapped their hands you by praying in the holy ghost went into the realm of the spirit and you took out obstacles Things were removed. Connections were made. Things came into alignment. So I just want to encourage those of you that have not been stirring up your prayer language, stir up the gift of God that is within you. You may not understand what you're praying about or what's happening, but the Bible says, he that searches

16:13 the hearts. knows what is in the mind of the spirit or in the mind of God. He knows everything about your future and he knows everything about your present and your future. And he knows exactly what needs to be prayed for. It's like I told my kids when they were, you know, thinking about college and where they should go and what they should do or what career they would take. I would say to them, pray in tongues, pray in the. You don't know everything. But the Bible says that eternity is in your heart. And when you pray in tongues, you're praying out of that place of eternity where God knows everything, things that you don't know. So pray in the Holy Ghost.

17:06 And that's what I want to encourage you to do. in the Holy Ghost about things you don't know, things you don't understand, things that are mystery to you. Because when you pray in tongues, you are praying the mysteries of heaven. And then eventually he will cause your thoughts to become agreeable with his thoughts. And then your plans will succeed. 18:39 pick up your own copy. Okay, let's go on. When you are praying in tongues, you are speaking or praying to God. This is very important. You are praying to God rooted and grounded. from your right standing with him in Christ. You see, when you were born again, the Bible says you're not only in, you are a new creation in Christ Jesus. So you are in Christ. You are in him.

19:19 The Bible has multiple scriptures about in him, in whom, in Christ. It just goes on and on and on. So you are in Christ. OK, legally right now you are in Christ. And when you pray in tongues, you are speaking or praying to God rooted and grounded from this place in Christ. Now, here's the beauty. When you pray in tongues and you're praying from that position, there is faith from this place. and not unbelief what does that mean that means that when you're praying in tongues you are praying in faith you are not praying unbelief have you ever prayed in unbelief i know i have especially worry prayers the worst thing in the world is praying worry prayers you're praying worry prayers things you're worrying about and you're talking about it you're worried worried worried no when you pray in tongues you are praying in a place of faith and not unbelief so you can have confidence that you're praying in faith there is no fear in this place so when you're praying in tongues you're not you're not praying out of fear but we know that god has given us a spirit of fear but of love and of power and of a sound mind so when you're praying in tongues you're praying from a place of stability

20:52 And there is no fear in this place. There is confidence in him and there is no insecurity. So when you're praying in tongues, you're praying it from a place of confidence and not insecurity. So let's just go through some scriptures. I'm not going to give you all of them because there's many, many, many scriptures about who we are in Christ. Here's one that I really like. First Corinthians 130 says, but of him you are in Christ Jesus who became for us wisdom from God and righteousness and sanctification and redemption. So when you pray in tongues and I pray in tongues, you are praying with wisdom. The Bible even says we speak the wisdom of God. In a mystery. So when you pray in tongues. You are praying with mystery.

21:53 In your right standing. And in your place of redemption. 2 Corinthians 2 .14. Are you ready for a lot of scripture? 2 Corinthians 2 .14 says. Now thanks be to God. Who always. causes us to triumph in Christ and through us diffuses the fragrance of his knowledge in every place. So when you pray in tongues, remember we said you're praying from your place of in Christ rooted and grounded in him. When you pray in tongues, you are praying from a place of triumph and victory.

22:33 I love that. You're not praying. from a defeated place you are praying from a place of triumph and victory 2nd Corinthians 5 19 through 21 God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not imputing their trespasses to them and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now, then we are ambassadors for Christ as though God were pleading through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God for he made him who knew no sin to be sin for us.

23:17 That we might become the righteousness of God in him. So when you are praying in tongues. You're standing as an ambassador for Jesus Christ. In the realm of the spirit. You are standing as an ambassador for Jesus Christ. For your folks of prayer. And you are standing boldly before the throne room of grace. And you. are praying the perfect will of God for the focus of your prayer. You are standing as an ambassador for Christ with his authority in the place of prayer.

23:59 I love that. That's why the devil hates it. When believers pray in tongues, because we're praying the will of God, the word of God, the promises of God that are all yes and amen. And we're praying with authority. Ephesians 1, 3 says, blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. I love this. You. are praying from a place of being blessed don't you just love that ephesians 2 6 god has raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places when you are praying in tongues you're praying from heaven's perspective not an earthly perspective and heavenly perspective you you're praying in the holy ghost goes beyond the natural and goes into the realm of heaven's perspective you are praying above and beyond anything of this earthly realm and you know the bible says he is able to do for you exceedingly abundantly above all you could ask hope dream or desire when you pray in tongues that's the exact place you're praying from first timothy 1 14 says And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant with faith and love, which are where in Christ

25:33 Jesus. So you're praying from a place of faith. You're praying from a place of love, which is in Christ Jesus. First John one forces in him was life, which is Zoe, the God kind of life. And the life was the light. men so when you're praying in tongues you are praying like we said from a place of eternity your prayers are not bound by time that's why when I was in Oklahoma and I was praying for what I was going to be doing in New Jersey I was not bound by time I was already praying the future out in the spirit You are praying from the realm of eternity. You may be praying for people you have not met yet and will be connected to in the future. You are praying into things that have not yet manifested, but will because you are praying according to the will of God. Okay. Second Corinthians one 20 for all the promises of God in him are yes.

26:42 And in him, amen. To the glory of God through us. You're praying from a place of yes and amen. 2 Corinthians 5 .21 says, He made him to be sin for us who knew no sin that we would become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. So you are praying from your right standing in Christ Jesus. Wasn't this amazing today? I hope you enjoyed it. And we're going to continue this teaching in our next broadcast. God bless you.
