Prophetically Praying Parents - Session 4 (Part 1)

0:00 You pray it and he can answer it. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. God will put the prayer in your heart to pray so that he can answer it. Goes into the hearts of the people, doesn't return void, it produces results. Well, before we get into the word, I just wanna again remind everyone that we have a new book out called Contend Stewarding the Hearts and Destinies of Our Children in Prayer. This is a thorough handbook on how to pray for your children. There's about 65 promises in the back of the book for you to use in prayer. There's outlines, there's all kinds of stories.

And in the back it says, make no mistake about it, there is war over the hearts and destinies of the generations that are in the earth today. Be prepared and equipped to pray. So I just wanna encourage you to get the book. Amen, so good. So I'm gonna go ahead and open in prayer. So Heavenly Father, we just come before you in Jesus' name. Father, I thank you that the Holy Spirit lives on the inside of me. Holy Spirit, you'll rise up big within me, give illumination to my mind, understanding to my spirit, unveil the word of God through me onto the hearts of the people that are listening.

1:28 I pray that there'd be a spirit of wisdom and revelation. And today I just yield myself to you in Jesus' name. We're just gonna go ahead and jump in. We talked last time we were together about how does a parent pray. We'll jump right in here from 1 Corinthians 14, 15. 1 Corinthians 14, 15 says, I will pray with the spirit, I will pray with the understanding also. So the first way we can pray is with our understanding, and that's what we highlighted last week. And we said, with our understanding to take the need to the promises of God's word and agree with the word, not the problem.

2:14 Yes. Yes. We talked about intercession, that it requires persistency, it requires a continual going before the throne room, a grace, it's praying and not giving up, Luke 18, one, not fainting, you see visible results. As a matter of fact, when it comes to the prayer of intercession, sometimes you'll see the answer and the breakthrough in your spirit first before you see it manifest in the natural. Everything originates in the unseen realm. Yes. Everything originates in the spirit realm. And this kind of praying goes into the spirit realm, makes the crooked ways straight, the rough places plain, the mountains and the hills come down, the valleys are filled up.

2:59 This kind of praying goes in the realm of the spirit. It does what I call, we talk about it in the book, it tills the ground to the hearts of the person that you are praying, it tills the heart. So it's different kinds of ground. Okay, we all know that. And those of you that are listening, you've never heard that, it's taken from, I don't remember the exact reference, but Jesus talked about different kinds of ground. Some is stony ground, some is ground with thorns. The sower went out to sow. Yeah, the sower went out to sow the word, but there was different kinds of ground. That's right. And according to the ground, was according to the kind of fruit. So when you pray the prayer of intercession, you're tilling the heart or you're tilling the ground of your child or whoever you are praying for.

3:44 The generation that God is speaking to you about that's in the earth today. So we pray with our understanding, we take their need to the promises in the word of God, agree with the word and not the problem. Find the promise that meets their need. Agree with his word and present his word before the throne room of grace. Don't pray the problem over and over and over again. We said that at intercession, there's one who lays one hand on him, one hand on God, we don't give up, we don't think, we hold on to that person. And we don't wanna pray the problem over and over and over again. We want to pray the answer. The answer is in the word of God.

4:25 Amen. We don't wanna pray worry prayers. Right. Worry prayers, you know, it's like James, let not that man think he'll receive anything from God. You don't pray worry prayers. You're just like a double-minded man, unstable in all your ways, and you're not gonna see results. Right. And the Bible says that the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. But we've got to pray according to the will of God. That's when we see results. Yeah. So when you pray worry prayers, I'm so worried, I'm so worried, I'm so worried, I'm so worried, I'm so worried, I'm so worried, you're not gonna get any results. You've got to pray the word of God. Right. Thank you, Father, that your word says, all of my children will be taught of the Lord.

5:08 Right. Will be the peace, an undisturbed composure. You pray the scriptures. Right. And I just want to belabor that because we're gonna talk about a different subject. But I'll go ahead and highlight. Isaiah 55, 11 says, the word of God, when you pray the word of God, it goes right into the realm of the spirit. It does not return void, but it will produce and accomplish on the behalf of the child or the generation that you are praying into. Yeah. Jeremiah 1, 12 says, God said, listen, I'm not a man that I should lie. I don't repent of anything I've said. If you pray my word and you apply these principles, my word will go forth and I will be ready to perform my word. Yes.

5:49 Amen. Amen. So Isaiah 20, how Isaiah verse 20 says, he sent his word and he healed them and delivered them from their destruction. That's right. As a matter of fact, the word of God is spirit and life. Again, it goes into the realm of the spirit, does a return void, and does something in the realm of the spirit. That's why I'm hearing in my scripture, Jesus said, blessed are those that believe and haven't seen. Sometimes, you know, we just got to keep believing and standing in faith, even though we don't yet see results on the behalf of our children that we're praying for. You just gotta be steadfast. Yeah. Immovable. Right. Always abounding in the labor, the work of prayer, because your labors are not in vain.

6:33 Right. Again, your prayers are working. Say my prayers. My prayers. My prayers. Work. Work. It says in Matthew 8,8, Jesus said, or the servant said to Jesus, speak a word and my servant will be healed. Job 22,28, you will decree and establish a thing and the light of God's favor will shine upon your ways. So when you decree and you declare, it will be established. Yes. Okay, so we're gonna go ahead and talk about the part of how to pray, which is I would pray the word of God and the understanding, but I'm also gonna pray in the spirit. Not gonna get into this today, but there is another level of praying.

7:17 And I actually addressed it in my book, Contend. And I like the fact that I addressed it because it's not a subject I teach on often anymore, because people got off with this subject. But there is another dimension of prayer that we're not gonna get into today. And it's the dimension of prayer where you enter into Jeremiah 9,1, John 7,38, out of your innermost being. What happens is you have the love of God coming up out of you and what you see affects your heart and you have tears. Yeah. Yes. And it's not coming from the emotional realm, it's coming from the spirit realm.

7:59 Yes. What you see is affecting your heart and you're actually co-laboring with God or you're identifying with what is going on with that person and there's tears and there's at times groanings which cannot be uttered in articulate speech or irregular kind of speech. And we wanted to say this and highlight this. Jesus stood at the tomb of Lazarus. The Bible says he wet, he groaned in his spirit and he was troubled. Maybe not in that order, but it's all the same thing.

8:40 And he didn't pray anything that we can see in scripture. He just, he wet, he was troubled in his spirit and he groaned in his spirit. And when he was done, he said, Father, I thank you that you've heard me. Yeah. That's right. You hear me always when I pray. So the things of the spirit are not like the things of the natural. And we can't compare natural things with spiritual things but sometimes we try by saying it's like a woman giving birth, she's in labor, she's in toil, she's in sadness and she kind of groans and poops and there's travail with that and a toil. And then eventually, boom, that baby is born.

9:20 And so a lot of times just before the birth of the promise, the thing that you're standing on, you may or may not enter into tears and groanings in the spirit. Oh yeah. Okay. So whether you do or not really doesn't affect the outcome of prayer because prayer opens up the door for God to work. Yes. But I just wanted to highlight that to you because basically it's coming up in my spirit. I didn't plan on saying this. So when Jesus prayed like that, he said, Father, I thank you that you hear me and you hear me always when I pray. What happened? He that was dead came forth. That's right. There's children, our children, they're dead in their trespasses and then sin, right? But when you pray, he that is dead will come forth.

10:02 Yes. Amen. Okay. Not only that, but Lazarus, he rises from the dead, but he has grave clothes on him. So what did Jesus say? He did speak a word. He said, take those grave clothes off of him. So when you pray and you stand in the gap and you have that kind of intercession, that other level, you will help to bring to birth the person you are praying for who is not saved. Paul said, my little children in whom I travail in birth again till Christ be formed in you. So we prayed first for them to be born again. He prayed a second time in travail for Christ to be formed in them, relations 4 and T.

10:47 So those grave clothes come off and he that was dead comes forth. So there is now the dimension of praying. The spirit of God wanted to highlight it and I thank God that he did. So when we talk about praying in the spirit, I will pray with the spirit, I will pray with the understanding also. I wanna talk to you about the Holy Spirit and basically Jesus spoke often of the Holy Spirit in his coming. Just know that as we move into this teaching, he talked about the Holy Spirit in his coming at least 264 times in the New Testament and the Holy Spirit is spoken of 60 more times in the gospel and the very last words Jesus spoke before he ascended up into the, can you believe it?

11:31 He went up into the clouds and he disappeared. Yeah, that's so true. I mean, to me that's just mind-popping. Right, right. They literally watched Jesus go up into the sky and disappear. But aren't you glad that the same Jesus went up into the sky. Will come again. Is coming again. That's right. The same way. Is coming again. Amen. No man knows the day, no man knows the hour, only the heart of the father knows the hour. We've gotta get ready. Right. We've gotta be prepared. Yeah. Because the king is coming. That's right. But the very last words that Jesus spoke before he went up into heaven, he said, listen, he said there's so much more to do.

12:12 He said the very last words was, you're gonna receive power. Yes. When the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you're gonna be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the innermost parts of the world. We know the apostles still didn't get it because the Holy Spirit was not yet given to give them revelation. They still didn't get it so they changed the subject and they asked something about who was gonna sit at the throne or whatever. I forget. I don't know. I have to read it. But they changed the subject and Jesus brought it right back. Right. You're gonna wait to the promise of my father which you've heard of me. He's coming. In other words, the Holy Spirit is coming. Don't go anywhere.

12:53 Don't do anything till you be in duke with his power from on high from the Holy Spirit. Yes. And we know that 500 people went up into the upper room. Correct? Right. But we know that only 120 were left in the upper room. That's right. What that leads me to believe is the others got discouraged. They didn't believe the promises of God and then they missed their encounter with God. They missed an amazing time in church history which is the birth of the church age. Right. I don't know about you but I would be one of them that would be in that upper room. Yeah. I wouldn't faint. I wouldn't give up. That's right. I wouldn't hold back. That's right. Go and draw back.

13:34 God said it. He's gonna do it. I believe. That's right. I receive and I'm waiting. Yeah. And so when the Holy Spirit was poured out, the Bible says he came in. And aren't you glad that the Holy Spirit is a person? Yes. He's not an it. He's not a thing. Right. He's not a cloud. He's not a, you know, an influence. He is a person. That's right. And when it comes to prayer, we've got to involve the person of the Holy Spirit because he helps us when we pray. Yeah. Right. Because we can't do it on our own. No. We need this empowerment. Yeah. We need the Holy Spirit to help us. Right. And that's what he is. He's the helper.

14:14 He will help us in our prayer time. So when the Holy Spirit was poured out, the Bible says he came in like a rushing mighty wind. I love that because the Holy Spirit is very demonstrative. Well, not always, but he likes to demonstrate himself. Yeah. He comes in and he said, I have arrived. Yeah. I'm here. You're here. I'm a small person. I'm here. I am a powerful person. That's right. I am the third person of the Godhead. Right. And I have come to help the church. Jesus said, I am going to build my church. Yeah. And the gates of hell will not prevail against it. Right. We can't build the church or even pray the way we really need to pray with power unless we have the Holy Spirit in his house.

14:57 That's right. And listening. Yes. So the Holy Spirit comes in, he manifests himself, and the Bible says that cloven tongues, like as a fire appeared on the top of them. I believe what happened was they just sensed the power of God and it caused them to be like, whoa, what is this? It felt like something manifested on their head. And it was the power of the Holy Spirit. I actually had a girl, side note, who lived with me who came from Brazil. And it's like my friends always say, anybody who gets around you always gets affected. Right. And you don't even have to preach to them. They just get affected. Yeah. Because your life is, your life speaks more at times than your words.

15:42 Yeah. And so long story short, one day she, I said to her, do you want to be filled with the Holy Spirit? And she said, yes. And so we went into, we, I don't know why, but I took her into my mudroom bathroom and that's where I prayed the prayer with her. And then she prayed, she was definitely born again because you gotta be born again in order to receive the baptism on the Holy Spirit, church. Don't pray the baptism on the Holy Spirit on anybody unless you know that they're born again. They confess Jesus Christ is Lord, he's the Lord and savior. I don't care if I know people, oh, I'm born again. I make them say it anyway, because like you said, I'm responsible. That's right. Now these other countries, you see all these other manifestations.

16:22 That's why, especially in other countries, you gotta make sure people are saved. So I led her into the prayer for salvation and the prayer for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. And I had her pray the prayer. I always have this way that I do it, just to remind people that I will pray that the Holy Spirit's not gonna come upon you and make you say or do something that you don't wanna say or do. You have to yield to him. Yes. There's a yield. Well, I don't hear anything. No, you have to open up your mouth and you have to form the words. He uses your mouth, your vocal cords. Amen. That's right.

17:02 Preaching. Yes, two minutes and I just preached about five sermons. Yeah. And so, just hear me out. The Holy Ghost is with us today. Amen. So the Holy Ghost came upon her. The power of the most high overshadowed her. And what rose up within her was a gusher and it wasn't Spanish or any other language or English. It was a language that came from heaven. Yes. And there is another language and it's called tongues. Right. And so, she was interesting to me because the first thing she said to me was she started speaking in tongues and then she goes, oh, I feel like something's sitting on my head.

17:45 Now the girl knew nothing. And she was the power of God. So I literally sat, put the lid down, set her down because she was gonna fall under the power of God. Yeah. People wonder, why do people fall under the power? Well, because when something supernatural comes in contact with something natural, something's gotta give. Right. So I had to learn what the anointing at times is so strong on me sometimes. Sometimes I just have to hold on because you can't. As a leader, I think at times you can, sometimes you can just fall into the power later and God's going, I want you to use that anointing to teach my people. You know what I'm saying? You got a minister under that. Yes, got a minister. So anyway, I think that's what happened at the birth of the church age.

18:29 The tongues appeared on them, my cloven tongues like as a fire. Maybe there was a fire, I don't know, but they felt the presence of God. Right. And what was the very first thing that happened at the birth of the church age when the Holy Spirit was poured out? They began to speak in other tongues. They all began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Wake up, church! We've neglected this so powerful prayer language that is so powerful. It's vital. According to Don, my friend Don, Don, Don, he wrote a book called Seven Days with the Witch.

19:10 Did I tell you about this already? And Don Allen. And they got this woman who born again, I was gonna bring it actually for you. I'm gonna bring it, I should have brought it. Because it revealed like John Ramirez, the strategies of the devil. And these witches, interesting, literally, she had to literally, after she got born again, go to the four corners of the region that she was in and renounce the curses she put on those women. Oh, praise God. It's interesting, I had in my spirit to bring that book and I didn't know it was gonna talk about this and how the service would go. But anyway, she said in the book, one of the things that she said in the book is she was revealing the strategies of the enemy is that the only thing, we understand a lot of things, listen, about the laws of the spirit, how it all operates.

20:03 He said, but the one thing we just cannot figure out is when Christians and believers speak in other tongues. We don't get it, we don't understand it, we know there's power in it, we know it disrupts what we wanna do. Right. She said, well, we just don't understand what it's for. It is a heavenly language. So I just wanted to make that known to you that the very first thing that happened is they all began to speak with other tongues. Can we please get back with the program? Yes. I am so annoyed. We've got these seeker-friendly churches and they don't want the manifestation of tongues and the gifts of the spirit and we have a powerless church.

20:50 Bono, if you have anybody know Bono from YouTube, he said, religion is when the Holy Spirit has left the building. Right, there you go. We have a form of godliness and we deny the power thereof. We don't have the power of the Holy Spirit and we don't use our prayer language and we don't have the gifts of the spirit and the manifestation. We have a problem. I don't know about you, but I'm the kind of person, I get bored. I'm bored. I'm bored. I'm bored. I'm bored. I'm bored. What is that? Lack of the presence of God and the lack of the Holy Spirit and the lack of the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. You're bored. That's the problem. Right, why am I here?

21:30 That's find a place where you're not bored and get out of that religious church and go into a Holy Ghost church where they're not only preaching the word, Yes! Yes! They're not only preaching the word, they have the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. We need both to fly. Yes! Amen, preaching girl. We need both to growl. So we just gotta get a grip. Please, if you're listening and you're not baptized in the Holy Spirit, you can get baptized in the Holy Spirit right at the end of this session. Yay! We've made it happen. Amen! So what is tongues? Or some people call it the baptism of the Holy Spirit or praying in the spirit. What is it?

22:11 It is a supernatural means of communication. Yes. Amen. I'm always reminded about Kenneth E. Hagan. If you've never read this book, I Believe in Visions, read the book. Yep. It will make Jesus so alive to you. But I remember when he was talking about in the book, when he was in his body, he was not yet healed, and he left his body, and he was descending into hell because he was not born again. No man goes to the Father except through the Son.

22:51 That's right. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. If you don't have Jesus, he's the bridge between God and man. He's the intercessor. You have to accept him in your heart, confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved. So he said he was leaving his body, he was descending into hell, and he said he heard a voice speaking, and it wasn't in English or something learned language. It was the language of heaven. Yes. I believe it was the voice of God the Father was speaking in another language, and when that voice spoke, he was pulled back up out of hell and went back into his body, and I believe that happened three times.

23:38 Okay? And by the third time, he said by the time he was getting back into his body, the third time, he said he had already been confessing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and he was born again, as he said, right there on the bed of affliction. And I believe that that was the language of heaven that God was, oh, rabba, kash, k-k-k-k, and speaking to the devil and commanding the devil to bring him up out of that grave. Amen. Thank you, Lord. So it is a supernatural means of communication. You are speaking to God the language of heaven. Now we're talking about the prayer of intercession for the generations. Keep that in mind. Right.

24:19 So 1 Corinthians 14 two says, for he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men, but to God. Amen. For no one understands him, however in the spirit he speaks mysteries. You're speaking mysteries. Another translation says divine secrets. Yes. Amplified says, for one who speaks in an unknown tongue speaks not to men, but to God, for no one understands or catches its meaning because in the spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things, not obviously the understanding. So when you pray in the Holy Ghost, when you're praying in tongues, on the behalf of the generations or your child, you're not speaking to people.

25:04 You're speaking directly to God, the divine secrets of God, and you're praying according to the will of God on the behalf of that child. Yes. And don't underestimate the power of this time prayer. That's right. Yes, amen. You know what? Your mind doesn't understand what you're saying. That's right. And to be honest, thank God half the time. Yes. Really. Because we said that if we get in the way, we're gonna be praying our own will, our own desires, our own things, and we're gonna mess it all up. We're gonna be praying witchcraft prayers, then we're really in trouble. Right. Yeah. Are you listening? Yes. So you're speaking a supernatural language of heaven. Number two, when you pray in the Holy Ghost, your spirit is praying or communing with God.

25:49 John 4.24. God is a spirit. It's spirit to spirit communication. This is important for us to understand. All right, you ready? Ready. You are a spirit. Yes. You have a soul and you live in a body. When you're praying in the Holy Ghost, it's your spirit by the Holy Spirit praying, and that prayer is a Revelations 5.8. It's going up before the throne of God. It is a sweet incense, and we're gonna get into this. You're praying and communicating the language of heaven, and this kind of praying works. Yes.

26:29 I'm gonna give you another example. When I first got filled with the Holy Spirit, I'll never forget it because, how many of you remember when you got filled with the Holy Spirit the whole day? Oh yeah, absolutely. I was hungry for the things of God. I had been born again two weeks prior. I really heard the horrible voice of God say to me, only believe, because I kept asking him and asking him and asking him, what must I do to be saved? What must I do to be saved? Just couldn't get anywhere one day. His grace, which is sufficient. After a while, it took a year. What must I do to be saved? I don't know why time, it's like you were saying the other day, I don't know why some things take time. Right. I don't know why it took him a year to speak to me. I don't know why.

27:09 Do you guys know everything? Yes. Like you always say, ask, seek, and knock. Right. We just gotta keep asking. I don't know what it is, but after a year of praying like that, I heard audibly on the inside of me, when I kept going, what do I do to be saved? What do I have to do to be saved? Lord, what do I have to do? I audibly heard, only believe. Right. And then something popped on the inside of me. Right, right. And I said, I believe. Yes. And I literally was translated out of the kingdom of darkness, into the kingdom of his dear son, in Romans 5, 5, the love of God was shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Ghost. I felt the love of God being poured into my heart, and I was completely transformed and changed, and became a brand new creature in Christ.

27:53 Amen. Literally all things pass away, all things became new. Yes. Where did that happen? Right on the inside. That's right. In my spirit, my spirit was born again. My soul was the same, and my body was the same. That's exactly right. My soul just needed to be renewed. That's it. How's your soul renewed? Your soul is renewed with the word of God. That's right. Geez, the anointing in here is incredible. That's why the Bible says, be not, be, be not, be transformed. Don't conform yourself to this world. Right, yeah. But be transformed by the renewing of your mind with the word of God. So your soul is transformed, your mind is renewed with the word of God. So I was excited.

28:33 I got born again. I'm telling everybody I'm born again. I was a little hippie girl, short shorts, the whole thing. How about the hippies? How the hippie girls were? Just the whole thing. Yes. Shocked out. Yeah. So anyway, and I still didn't, I was like, I'm still me, but something was different on the inside. Two weeks later, I went to, I was led by the Spirit. Oh yes. Of course you were. You're being led by your Spirit. Just know that. Yes, amen. And so I was led by my Spirit and somehow found this church. And me and my girlfriend, we went to this service and they were all, some gang that they are, mando ramas, so ya ha, singing in the Spirit.

29:17 That's gotta be restored to the church as well. Yes it does. Yes it does. Really. As a friend of mine said, for the love of God and everything is holy. Yes. Seriously. Seriously. For the love of God to do this. Let's do this. Amen. And I'm watching. Yeah. And I'm watching. Singing in the Spirit. Yes. Yes. How many of you have ever been in a service where, you know, especially back in the day where everybody was singing in the Holy Ghost and it was like the tongues of man. Every day.
