The Art of Intercession Pt. 2

Why do you think men are coming to the brightness of your rising? Why do you think people come to you and ask you for prayer?

0:40 Why do you think people come to you and ask you for counsel and advice? Because they are attracted to the presence of God that you have on your life. To me, prayer is everything. Everyone say prayer is everything. I am a house of prayer. I am just going to sit here for just a minute. Let's just close your eyes and look at Him. Father, we look at you and we love you.

1:20 We are seeing you more than we have ever seen you before. We are falling in love with you more than we have ever loved before. Thank you, Lord. Amen. You sense His presence? See? Can you feel Him? He said, I am going to make my glory pass by you. I am going to reveal my goodness to you. You know, His glory is here this morning.

2:00 I don't mind stopping. Here you go. Here is another wave. Thank you, Father. Come unto me, O ye that laborer, heavy laden.

2:41 I am giving you rest. All I want you to do is learn of me. Seek me. The church should be a place of refuge and rest. Here is another wave.

3:38 Father, we really appreciate your presence. I am going to say something to you. I know you hear me when I pray. I am asking you that as your presence falls, I am asking you for miracles. Signs and wonders, healings and miracles in the midst of your presence. You said, ask of me. I will do great and mighty things. We love you. We appreciate your presence. Where is the Lord God of the Laija? Where is the Lord God of Catherine Pullman?

4:19 Where is the Lord God of Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever? We went about doing good and healing all the world rest of the devil through your link. You said to covet earnestly the gifts of the Spirit. Father, we covet earnestly in these days, this generation, the power gifts to the in man of the station. Why? Because many would believe on you because of the miracles. For your glory. That's all you want. We want you.

5:01 We want to reach the people you want to see saved and come to the knowledge of truth. You know what's going to happen? People have been very bored in church lately.

5:44 Oh, I just said what you were thinking. I don't mean just here. It's been happening all around, especially in the United States. People are bored for church. You know why they're bored? Because the presence of God has left the church. God is restoring the Tabernacle of David. God is restoring his glory in the church. He's getting his people ready. And we're going to see some great in life. Amen.

6:25 I think sometimes we just need to be still. And no. There's another way that he is God. Amen. It's just getting us ready, Paula. People are just crying in here today. I'm just going to let you cry. You needed to cry. People just need to cry. When was the last time you cried in the presence of God? Jeremiah settled in my head room like waters.

7:07 My eyes are filled with tears. And Jeremiah was asking to wait for the slain daughter of his people. He was asking for tears he had lost. When you're in his presence, you sense his heart. Your heart becomes his heart. And then you begin to see others the way he sees them. And it may cause you to weep. I just see the body of Christ as a great ship.

7:49 And I see the ship turning. You're turning away from the traditions and the distractions. And I see the ship turning and facing its nose to Jesus Christ. There is the author and the finisher of what he desires to do in these last days. The boredom is not necessarily a bad thing. The boredom is driving people to their knees.

8:41 I was in a meeting in Guatemala. We did a pastors and leaders conference. It was really cool. I didn't want to go and say, not my will, you're a movie doc because I was scared. Have you ever been scared? But I went. And I'm glad I did. Because when God tells you to do something and you do it, you realize that you're in a crossroad. And then if you didn't do that thing, that you wouldn't be at that new place and then you'd be stuck. And I mean to tell you that we were preaching, grown men were crying.

9:28 Grown men cry in the presence of God. Pastors and leaders were crying. We touched them. Nobody even hands on them. Nobody did anything. Who did it? My ignoring was passing by. Amen. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Well, is everybody happy? Are you glad that you waited? Wait on the Lord. Be still. I know that he is God. He is God.

10:08 See, you can know God through the word. How about knowing Him through prayer? All you have to do is Google. You can have any scripture, any teaching come up. It just takes a little effort to be a house of prayer. It's not going to be one of the people that sits there and does nothing for God or does nothing about getting to know God. My final quest is to know Him, to become deeply and intimately acquainted with Him. Do you have struggles? We are on struggles. How many of you have struggles?

10:49 How many of you have distractions that pull against you? Well, what happens if I pray really good for like a week and then all of a sudden for like a week I had no time to pray? Well, you just get back up and you just get back into prayer. Amen. Amen? Well, let's finish this area that we were just in. There's the prayer of agreement. What's the prayer of agreement? That if two of you will agree on earth is touching anything that shall be done. We agree. There's the prayer of commitment, 1 Peter 5, 7.

11:30 What's the prayer of commitment? That's where you cast all of your cares, all of your concerns, once and for all, over on Jesus. Amen. Amen. When? Once and for all. But what if I pick it up five minutes later? Then you don't know what? You go back to God and say, I cast all of my cares over on you once and for all. You use your spiritual imagination, picture yourself holding that thing in your hand and giving it to God.

12:10 Do whatever you've got to do because God wants you free from anxiety, free from cares. You've given it to Him, then just walk on like it's already done, and say, what is that thing that you're believing in for? See, because in the last days, men's hearts will fail for fear. We said it before, we'll say it again, there's a lot of stress and anxiety in the world. This is a really good prayer, especially for us ladies. You mean God doesn't want me to hold on to it? God does not want you to hold on to it? Why? He said anxiety is just basically fear anyway.

12:51 But just give it to God. I remember I heard Kenneth E. Hagen say one time, he said, they didn't have any money to pay the bills at the Bible school. And Kenneth E. Hagen got up, we were all there, all the students and all the guests were in for some meeting, there's Kenneth E. Hagen, he gets up, he goes, in front of everybody, he goes, I'm just going to tell you something right now. He said, I'm not going to lose one bit of sleep over the payment for this school. He said, I'm going to tell you right now, he said, if the bills don't get paid, I'm going to go all over the United States of the world and tell everybody that God lied.

13:32 You're going to hurt a pin drop. We were all really scared, we were like, did he really say that? And you know what? Basically what he was doing is, that was his voice of faith. I'm casting all my cares, this is not my ministry, I didn't want it in the first place. You told me to build the school, now I'm building the school, now you pay for it. Then there's United Prayer, Genesis 11, and all throughout the book of Acts. What is United Prayer? It's when you gather together corporately and you can pray together.

14:15 You do what we call corporate United Prayer. There's prayer in the spirit for personal edification. What is that? That's when you're praying tongues and you're building yourself up on your most holy faith and you're praying in the Holy Ghost and it's strictly for personal edification. I was praying for personal edification when we were sitting there just before I got up to speak. What is prayer for personal edification? He that speaks in an unknown tongue speaks not unto men, but unto God, how be it in the spirit. He speaks mysteries. It's praying in tongues or praying in the spirit. Mark 16 says, these signs will follow them that believe they will what? Speak within tongues.

14:55 So it's the kind of praying that you pray when you find yourself getting really tired and weak spiritually. It's for personal edification. It's like this. It's like you have a battery in your cell phone and the more you use that cell phone, the more the bars go down. But when you need to charge it up, you plug it into the wall and you plug that phone into the wall with that cord and that battery gets charged up. When you pray in the spirit, you are edifying yourself. That word edify means to build up or to charge up like a battery. Lastly, there's the prayer of binding and loosening and we didn't get to start the prayer of intercession, but we will get into it tonight. I'm going to just introduce it and then we're going to close.

15:42 Is everybody happy? Very quiet. What is the prayer of intercession? The prayer of intercession is prayer for another. The prayer of intercession is one or an intercessor is one who stands in the gap before God. Ezekiel 2230 said, I sought who sought. God said, I am seeking. I'm the one that's calling you to intercession. I am the one that's calling you to a greater measure of prayer.

16:24 Why? Because I want to do some great and mighty things in your midst. And I'm telling you, the more we pray, the more it activates the plans and the purposes of God. So he said, I sought for a man among them that would stand in the gap before me for the land. The prayer of intercession is not praying for yourself. The prayer of intercession is praying on the behalf of a person, a nation, a city, a pastor, a husband, or a wife. It's not praying for yourself, it's praying for someone else.

17:04 And the laws that govern the prayer of intercession are not the same laws that govern the prayer of faith. We're going to get into that. The prayer of intercession is a mediator. The Webster's definition of a mediator is a go-between. An intercessor, one who imposes between parties at variance, why? For the purpose of reconciling them. An intercessor is as a lawyer who pleads the case on the behalf of another. Amen. Is everybody still here? Amen.

17:47 I feel like I could honestly preach for another hour, but we can't because we have to close. An intercessor is as a lawyer. I actually did a four-hour webinar one time, and I did literally speak for four straight hours. I'm sorry. An intercessor is as a lawyer who pleads the case on the behalf of another. So we are the intercessor, and we are as a lawyer, and we're going to the throne of God, and we are pleading the case on the behalf of someone else before the throne of God, and what is the law that we're using?

18:31 We're using the Word of God. And how do you know that God said in His Word, I will hasten my Word to perform it. My Word will not return void. The Bible says somewhere in Isaiah, let us plead together. So God uses His Word, which is His law, and we plead His Word before the throne of God, and we see results on the behalf of the people we pray for. Isn't that what Moses did when he stood in the gap for the children of Israel? He, God wanted to come down and destroy everybody. God said, that's not like you, that's not your nature, and basically everybody's going to talk about you, that you let everybody out of the bondage, only to bring them in to kill them all.

19:15 And Moses said, God said, yeah, you're right. The Webster's definition of intercession is to plead or make a request on the behalf of another. To intervene with the purpose of producing agreement. The Greek word for intercessor is to get the ear of a king on the behalf of another person. Listen to that. To get the ear of a king on the behalf of another person. And how many of you know who our king is?

19:55 We say, worship to our king. He is our king of kings. And we have authority on this earth to bind and to lose. We have authority on this earth. Man is God's avenue into the earth. We have not because we ask not. All power and authority has been given back to the church, and Jesus said, now go ye therefore and represent me, not just on the streets, but go into that place of prayer and begin to exercise your dominion and your authority in prayer for yourself, no, on the behalf of another person, on the behalf of your city, on the behalf of the East Coast, and you watch and see that I won't do some great and mighty things.
