The Foundations of Prayer - Part 2

0:00 You pray it and he can answer it. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. God will put the prayer in your heart to pray so that he can answer it. Goes into the hearts of the people, doesn't return void, it produces results. Let's go to Genesis 1. I didn't feel like doing the copy and paste, so I brought my Bible and I'm gonna read it from my Bible. How many of you have Bibles? Let's start reading here at verse 26, Genesis chapter one. Genesis 1, 26.

0:40 Then God said, everyone say God said. God said. Let us, the Trinity, make man in our image according to our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. So God created man in his own image. In the image of God he created him, male and female, he created them. Then God blessed them and said to them, be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.

1:23 That word dominion is rada. Have dominion, that word means to tread, to rule, to have dominion, to dominate. The English definition is to rule or to have authority. He didn't say, God didn't say, I'm gonna dominate you. Adam originally, this is a very important foundation. Adam originally had dominion upon this earth. Upon this earth and in the world. In a sense, Adam was the God of this world. But Satan came and lied to Adam, and Adam committed high treason and sold out to Satan.

2:09 He gave the dominion and the authority to Satan. Here's scripture to prove it. Everybody say the foundation. The word of God. Luke 4, six, and the devil said to Jesus, this was the temptation, all this authority, I will give you. And that was, do you know, that was the easy road. You know, there is an easy road, and then there's the hard, then there's the road that God's called us to really walk on. Be careful you don't take the easy road. Masha ke teya manaya. Sometimes the harder road's a harder road because it is the harder road.

2:52 And the easy road doesn't lead you on your path and into your destiny. The easy road takes you off your path. And you will, you don't want that. I will give you and their glory for, what did he say here in Luke 4, six, for this has been delivered to me. And I give it to whoever I wish. Now you know this, this was a real temptation. So it was a definite, real thing, it was a fact. Second Corinthians four, three, and four, if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. Who, the mind, the who.

3:35 The God of this age has blinded who does not believe. He's the God of this age. Are you afraid of him? The Bible says greater is he that is in you and I than he that is in the world. We are in the world, we are not of the world. In the world we will have tribulation, but be of good cheer. Jesus said I have overcome the world and I am on the inside of you. Are you gonna get warfare? Are you gonna get tested and treated? Are you gonna get tested and tried and all kinds of stuff? Absolutely, 100%. But you've gotta plow through the warfare and just know that the greater one is in you.

4:20 Do you know that when you go to a new level there's a new devil? First John 5, 19, here's another one. In the mouth of two or three, right? We know that we are of God and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. Now, we have been given the authority by Jesus. What was lost, listen, in Adam was restored in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. That's why Jesus said to you and I, Matthew 28, 18 and 20, Jesus came and he spoke saying, all authority has been given to me in heaven and in earth.

5:04 And then he said to his disciples, now you go therefore and in my name. And he said cast out devils, heal the sick, so on and so forth. So you and I are as Christ in the earth. When we use his name, the Bible says, whatever you ask or demand in my name, that word demand is not ask, it's demand in my name. The Amplify said, I will be there to back it up. Yeah. First Corinthians, I had this, I added this to my notes because it came to me in my spirit this morning. First Corinthians two, verse eight. Listen, if they had known, what was gonna happen when Jesus, if they had known the mystery, if they had understood the plan of redemption, if they had understood that Jesus was the second Adam and he was gonna come to give us authority and dominion over this earth.

6:02 And that whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven. That we would have the authority to use his name, to speak the word, to declare the word of God. And the enemy must flee. If he had known that, he would have never crucified the Lord of glory. Would have never done it. But the devil played right into the hand and the plan of redemption. And you know what I love about the plan of redemption? He used a bunch of people who are just like you and I. Regular people with issues, personality stuff, all kinds of stuff. He got his whole plan fulfilled by using all the people through all that time.

6:45 And here we are today. And I believe that the glory of this latter house is gonna be greater than the former. I believe that we're coming into another major move of God, that we are coming in. We thought we were there 30 years ago and we pioneered it and we prayed and we believed. But I believe that God has a secret plan that we don't know of. That's why he can't tell us everything. He's got to leave some secret things a secret. Even to the prophets. Because if they open their mouth and tell the secrets, it's gonna mess things up. I live for this. I live for seeing another move of God.

7:26 I live to see, I believe we're gonna live to see the power gifts in manifestation. God's actually been telling us lately. The power gifts. But you've got to covet them, desire them, long for them. Just like you covet to prophesy, covet that there's working of miracles, gifts of healings and a gift of faith would be in manifestation. If you ever read Catherine Coleman's books, your heart would break. And that's what we need. We need to have tears like Jeremiah had in Jeremiah 9.1. He said, oh, that my head were like waters and my eyes a fountain of tears that I would weep for the slain daughter of my people. We've got to literally begin to see the way God sees.

8:11 Catherine Coleman's books, people were, they were terminal and it had cancer and were in pain and hurting and they'd attend her meetings and guess what? Nobody touched him. Nobody laid hands on him. The power of God, the power of the most high would overshadow them. He would come upon them and he would just begin to heal their bodies. Nobody got the glory. There was a, the only person that got the glory was Jesus. So that's where we're headed. If they had known they would have never crucified the Lord of glory. Amen. Ian Bounds said, if prayer puts God to work on earth, then by the same token, prayerlessness rules God out of the world's affairs and prevents him from working.

9:05 So you have to ask. I'm gonna quote some scriptures and I'm gonna do it. And now you know what's interesting about this? God gave me this message in the height of the grace movement. Is everybody okay with me saying that? Does anybody know what the grace movement is? K-s-e-r-a, se-r-a, whatever will be will be. I'm under the law, I'm not under the law but grace. So K-s-e-r-a, se-r-a. A passive gospel. I get it, Jesus did it all. He did the work. But man is still God's avenue into the earth.

9:47 We have not because we ask not. Prayer opens up the door for God to work. I've given you authority and power and every place the sole of your foot treads upon, I've given it to you but the righteous gotta go in and take it by force. This friend of mine said he was a ministry peer. Very annoying. Easter, you know who he is. I'll whisper it in your ear later. This is not gossip, it's error. We had been pioneering since 1981 for a prayer movement in this region. He gets up in a, I don't know, I guess you would say at the time a mega church and he had a platform.

10:32 And he literally said, I don't pray anymore. Everything I have is by God's grace. I delight myself in the Lord. You're so selfish. It's all about you, isn't it? I delight, I just had to say that. I delight myself in the Lord and he gives me the desires of my heart. Well what about and of some have compassion and others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garments spotted by the flesh. What about that? Pulling people out of hell, using your authority, using the prayers of the saints which have a right, our righteous prayers of the saints which has a powerful effect.

11:15 I got him on the phone. It wasn't pretty. And I'm very like secure now. More than, I mean I'm secure. Back then I still had a little bit of, I don't know, whatever that is that you gotta grow out of. If you're gonna grow into your gift and be everything God's called you to be. And I just said to him, I can't believe you just said that. You just literally uprooted so much of our work that we've been doing in this region by saying that. Anyway, that was my rant.

11:56 Oh my goodness. Matthew 6, 8, therefore do not be like them for your father knows what things you have need of before you ask him. Matthew 7, 11, if you then being evil, that's really natural parents, know how to give good gifts to your children. How much more will your father who is in heaven give good things to those who what? Ask him. Matthew 18, again I say to you, if two of you shall agree on earth concerning anything they what? They ask, it shall be done by my father which is in heaven. John 14, 13, and whatever you ask in my name, that I will do, as that the father may be glorified in the son, that word ask like we said is actually demand.

12:37 John 15, 16, you did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should remain and that whatever you want. Ask the father in my name, he may give it you. James 4, 2, you have not because you ask not. Psalms 2, 8, ask for the heathen, ask for the nations. Matthew 7, 7, and 8, ask and it will be given you. Ruth Bell Graham once said, God has decreed to act in response to prayer. Ask, he commands us and Satan trembles for fear that we will. Is your faith getting built up?

13:18 I'm gonna read you something from a book called Unmasking the Devil, Strategies to Defeat Eternity's Greatest Enemy. John Ramirez, see I'll tell you how I am. I'm a praying person. I want to understand the laws of the spirit. And when I find out that there's somebody like him exposing the laws of the enemy, there's a scripture that he uses. I don't remember what the exact scripture is. I wanna know what he learned so I can learn some things. It's just like tongues. Do you know when you pray in tongues, the devil doesn't understand what you're saying?

14:01 It completely confuses his plans and his purposes. That's a whole nother message. So he said in his book, as a demonic high priest at night, I would leave my body and fly over neighborhoods. Hurling taunts and curses down on the people who lived within their borders. Caught in the grip of strange dreams, I would feel myself being transported into different neighborhoods. Within the five boroughs of New York City, these out of body experiences called astral projection allowed me to have dominion over the communities.

14:46 I felt diabolical, like a vampire, and I knew they had nothing on me. Sometimes I would even land and walk around the neighborhoods bringing curses, bad luck and witchcraft aura. Let me just say this, because I forgot to say it's very important that you understand he got born again. And then he was discipled under David Wilkerson. So he had that level of stability and somebody that was training him in the word of God. Oddly, however, in some neighborhoods, I met with strong resistance. And at first, couldn't understand where the opposing power came from. In these neighborhoods, people were waiting for me to land.

15:28 I prepared to curse the neighborhood, but when I landed, a mob would chase me for blocks and I couldn't curse them. Are you listening? Frustrated, I would fly off again, hovering as high as the street lamps, and they would look up at me. Can you imagine what God could do with you people that are so prophetic around here and the things you're seeing and hearing and knowing, and you mix that with prayer? Finally, I realized these were nasty Christians praying for their neighborhoods. He said, I hated them the most. Wherever these praying Christians lived, I couldn't penetrate the neighborhood.

16:13 So I would move on to the next neighborhood. Ooh, we're almost done. Foundation number two. God hears you when you pray. He hears you. I didn't feel like he heard me. Doesn't matter, get over it. He hears you. He's a faith God, not a feeling God. He doesn't operate in the sense realm, he operates in the spirit. Proverbs 15, 29, the Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayers of the righteous. First John 5, 14 and 15, now this is the confidence we have in him, everyone say confidence.

16:59 That if we ask anything according to his will, which is his word, what's the result? He hears us. And if we know he hears us, whatever we ask, then we know we have the petitions we desire of him. John 11, 42, I hope to get into this next week. When you pray, you pray. I hope to get into this next week. When Jesus was at the tomb of Lazarus, he wept, he groaned in the spirit, and he was troubled. That was his prayer. And what did he say? He said, Father, I thank you that you hear me always when I pray.

17:43 When's the only time he won't hear you? Do you know the answer to that? When's the only time God won't hear you? Psalm 66 says, if I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. It's a wall. So something to be reminded of, the devil will always attack you where your gift is. So if you're a praying man or a praying woman, he'll try to get you offended, he'll try to get you hurt. He'll send, I believe the devil even sends people to do some of that warfare to get you off your wall.

18:25 You're a watchman on the wall, and he's trying to push you off with rejection and hurt and all kinds of stuff. Just be as wise as a serpent, as harmless as a dove, and keep your armor on and watch your backside. Keep yourself clean and pure in the love of God. Number three, we're almost done. Third foundation, he answers you. Jeremiah 33, three says, call upon me, I'm gonna answer you. And it may not look the way you think it's supposed to look.

19:08 My thoughts are not your thoughts, my ways are not your ways, but you call upon me, I'm gonna answer you and show you great and mighty things. Lastly, number four, and the Holy Ghost gave me this this morning, because I didn't even have it, I didn't think of this, the Holy Ghost gave it to me. He said, stay in faith. See, people think, and I've seen this, and I've just thought about it, I don't always say everything I think. My friends know that. I just observe and I wait. That's why you gotta wait, and the best way to teach people is to teach them, not correct them.

19:49 Give them the word of God. Sometimes we think, if I could just get a million people to pray, my prayers will be answered. Well, God will hear the prayer of the righteous. The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails months. You've got to mix your prayers with faith. What is faith? Faith is a substance, it's a force in the spirit. It's a substance of two things. It's the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of what you don't see. So when you pray in the realm of the spirit, it's working.

20:30 He hears you, he's answering you. You've just gotta walk by faith and not by sight. You've got to hold fast the confession of your faith without wavering. Keep, like Brother Hagen used to say, when you walk into a room and it's a dark room, and what do you do to get the light to come on? You turn the switch on, right? Keep that switch of faith turned on. You gotta operate in faith. Okay, let's stand. We're gonna pray. And I'm gonna turn this over to Pastor Tricia, or Pastor David, whoever's in charge, at 8.30.

21:17 Because that's what I do, I always obey the rules. Always. What we're gonna do, can I have my, yeah, oh perfect. We're gonna demonstrate, I'm gonna demonstrate prayer. We're gonna ask God for a fresh, we're gonna ask for a fresh rain of God's presence in our region. And then the Holy Ghost corrected me and he said, and in your families. And then when I looked it up, it said it right here. Now, it said it right here. Let me just see which one.

21:57 First, let's talk about the promise. What's the promise? Everyone say the promise. Promise. Here's the promise. Isaiah 44.3. Put my post-it right on top of the scripture. Ooh, I could feel the Holy Ghost. Ooh, Shakaia maniah. For I just hear the Lord saying, I'm gonna anoint you with fresh oil. You're gonna be a people that are called by my name. And as you humble yourself and stand before my throne, room of grace, I'm gonna hear from heaven, and I'm going to pour out upon you the working of miracles, the gift of faith and the gifts of healing.

22:40 For what the enemy has desired for the evil, I the Lord am going to turn it around. And you're gonna see signs and wonders and miracles and manifestations of my spirit that you have longed for and that you have desired. So continue to seek me, continue to long for me, continue to inquire of me, and I will pour out of my spirit in a fresh new wave of signs and wonders and miracles. And the Lord said, and it's gonna take you by surprise because nobody's gonna know what's happening, but I'm gonna descend in the back and someone's going to be healed by my power and by my spirit.

23:23 And then they're gonna come to you and they're gonna say, I had this wrong and that wrong. And you're gonna say, whoa, who did that? It was not by might, it was not by power, but it was by my spirit, says the Lord. Isaiah 44, three says, for I will, I love this, I will. You know, God has a will. You think you have a strong willed child, right? They write books about that. God's the ultimate strong willed, creator of the heavens and the earth, and he has a will. Not only does he doesn't want anybody to be, no one to be go to hell, he wants them all to be saved.

24:06 I would let all men be saved, all of them, every single one of them, you will be saved and your households, nothing's too hard for God. You know, you're a watchman in your own house. He said, I will pour water on him who is thirsty and floods on the dry ground. I will pour my spirit, here it is, on your descendants. These millennials, these Z generations, contending for the hearts and destinies of our children, he said, I'm gonna pour my spirit out on your offspring. Yeah, but they're getting worse. A lot of times you start praying for your children or for someone, they get worse before they get better.

24:51 Why? Because the devil knows he's gotta leave and he's putting up a fight. Just hold fast to confession of your faith. Hold on in faith. Don't faint if you don't see visible results. Jesus said men ought to always pray and not faint. They will spring up among the grass like the willows by the watercourses. So here's the promise, I'm gonna do this for you, but here's what God said, this is what we're gonna do tonight. Ask the Lord for the rain. In the time of the latter rain, and the Lord will make flashing clouds, he will give them showers of rain and grass in the field for everyone.

25:32 So Father, let's just pray. So Father, we just come before you. We come before the throne room of grace. And we stand before your throne with clean hands and a pure heart. Let's everybody pray in the Holy Ghost. We come and we stand before the throne of grace. Let's pray in the Holy Ghost. We come and we stand with clean hands and a pure heart. And we come to you on the behalf of this region and on the behalf of the families that are represented from those that are here in person and those who are listening online. And we ask Father God that you would send the rain in the time of the latter rain.

26:13 You said if my people which are called by my name would humble themselves and pray, that if you see that there's a drought, that if we would ask you, you would not only forgive our sin, but you would heal our land and heal our families. And Father, we're asking for an outpour of your Spirit on this region and on our sons and on our daughters. You said in your word that in the last days, you would do this for us. So we covet earnestly Father, that your heart would be opened. And then out of the abundance of your heart, your mercy would be made known. That in wrath, you would remember mercy.

26:56 May the mass shake a tail of my sorrow, but so let me case a release. Seke state of my high a seke a mania. Father, we ask in Jesus name, you said in your word, to covet earnestly the gifts of the Spirit to be an operation. Father, we covet, we crave, we desire that we would see the manifestation of the working of miracles, gifts of healings and the gift of faith. Because haven't you said in your word that many would believe on Jesus because of the miracles. So we say Father, send the rain. Open up the treasure chest of your heart.
