The Gifts: Speaking in Tongues

0:00 The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much God will put the prayer in your heart to pray so that he can answer it. It goes into the hearts of the people, does it return void? It produces results. How is everyone today? This is the day that the Lord has made. I'll rejoice and be glad in it. I've thought about this moment many, many times where I was in a certain church in a certain place, and I remember speaking on Psalm 63. Isn't that something how you remember certain things? And I believe it was this church, not who he is now, but back in the day.

0:47 Psalm 63, oh God, you are my God, early will I seek you, I'm just talking about being hungry and thirsty for God, and so on and so forth. I believe this was the church because this was the exact same road. It wasn't that far from where I lived. It was just really amazing. Here we are. The honest to God's truth is that there's a lot of ministers and ministries that start out, but they don't last for the duration. The apostle Paul said, I fought a good fight, I finished my course, and there's laid up for me a crown, but there's a lot of people in ministry that started out that I know of that are not in ministry today. So there's something to be said about the Andy Suraces and the Richard Myers and the Jamie Morgan's and even the Margie Florence, that we started out and we're still going.

1:36 Ministry is not an easy, it's a lot of reward, but it's not easy. You lay down your life and you give yourself to the gospel and you do your best to be obedient to God, and then not everybody understands you. It's just not always an easy line, and you don't make a lot of money. I'm just saying. I was telling the ladies, thank God I have my husband who has a career and a job, and I have the opportunity to just put everything I get right back into the ministry, and we're teaching the world how to pray, we're making videos, we're doing all kinds of things. But when I was single and on the road in the ministry, we needed to take a salary, and I took the housing allowance and all the things that you do corporately.

2:21 So anyway, that was all free. But it's really good to be here, it's good to be here with you. I have a word for someone. And if God has brought me just to this service just for one person, then we hit the target. We hit the jackpot. You know, God has a word for someone, and I just want you to be very open and receptive to this word. I am going to talk to you today about the Holy Spirit and prayer, and specifically emphasize tongues, and the reason for speaking in tongues.

3:01 And I have to be honest, I'm very passionate about this, because we had a, in the 80s there was a move of God, and I came from Ramah, and I came from a lot of heavy hitter people, and I was surrounded by people who understood the power of praying in tongues, and we would have prayer meetings where tongues was the primary language that was spoken. And what I have seen as we have moved forward in church history, because we're still in church, we're still in the age of the church, what I've seen in this age of, in this time in church history is people have neglected their prayer language.

3:42 And the reason people have neglected their prayer language is because they don't understand what they are saying, they don't understand the power of praying in tongues, their mind is too preoccupied with other thoughts, and they just neglect the gift of God that is on the inside of them. And what I hear, the Holy Spirit saying is, I hear Him saying, I want my people to stir up the gift of God that is within them, and I am reviving tongues in my church. And so the way you get people to, into movement, and the way you get people to move into the revelation, and that which God wants to do, is you have to teach it, you have to preach it, you have to talk about it.

4:29 And we've had different types of prayer in the body of Christ, in different ways people pray, but tongues is, and we're going to get into this, the perfect, most purest, perfect prayer that you can pray. Are you listening? Now, let me just start, I want to give you a few facts about the Holy Spirit. Jesus spoke often about the Holy Spirit and His coming. The New Testament, we have 6264 times, and 60 or more times that the Holy Spirit was spoken of, or more in the Gospel.

5:09 So Jesus talked a lot about the Holy Spirit, He talked a lot about His coming, there was great emphasis on the Holy Spirit, He said, listen, don't worry about it, the disciples were upset, you know, I'm leaving, I'm going, they were upset, they were confused. He said, but listen, you're not going to be left as orphans, I'm going to send the Comforter, the Helper, the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete, he's going to live with you, he's going to abide with you, he's going to teach you, he's going to guide you, he's going to be everything that I've been to you, but there's going to be more of you to get the job done, because I contain the Holy Spirit, but at the new birth, many sons and daughters are going to be born, and the works that I do, are you going to do also, and greater works than these, because there's more of you to get the job done.

5:49 And when the Spirit of Truth is come, he will abide with you, he will lead you, he will guide you, he will empower you, so don't be dismayed, I am going to send the Comforter. And the disciples didn't totally understand it, because the Spirit of Truth had not yet been given, that Spirit of Revelation. But we see, just before Jesus ascended up into the heavens, he left another promise, and some of his last words were about the Holy Spirit. And you know the Scripture, but I'm going to quote it, Acts 1-8, said, Jesus said to the disciples, he said, listen, I'm going to tell you one more thing about the Holy Spirit that I don't think I've told you yet.

6:31 He said, you are, first of all, you're to wait for him, wait, don't do anything to you receive this Holy Spirit. He said, you're to wait for him, he said, and you are going to receive power, after that the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and I'm going to turn you into witnesses that are literally going to turn this world upside down. Where you've been a coward, you're going to be bold, where you've betrayed me, you're going to be my primary ministry gift that is going to testify of me. And you're listening. So he said, listen, you are going to receive power when, when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You know the Scripture, I'm going to say it, and guess what, we're recording, we could use this on our YouTube channel.

7:13 Listen, that word power means dunamis, it means creative, miracle working power, power, so powerful, capable of reproducing itself. So when you receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, Jesus said, you're going to receive power. And the beauty of when he, when he said that is the Scripture says, and I love this, because we think the Bible is like some fantasy. And no, it's not a fantasy. This stuff really happened. The woman with the issue of blood who suffered many things from many physicians and was really sick and was healed by Jesus of that infirmity, that really happened. There was a certain woman that that happened to, she reached out, she touched the hem of Jesus' garment and she was healed of an infirmity that she had for so long.

7:59 So you see, read in the Bible after Jesus spoke those words, the Scripture says he ascended up and he went up into the clouds and they watched him go up and he was, he was, he went so high that you could no longer see him. He actually did that. That actually happened. Jesus left the earth and he went up, up into the presence of God. Are you listening? But I love the fact that that same Jesus that went up into heaven is the same Jesus that some days is going to come back to earth. And we are going to be caught up together. We're going to meet the Lord in the air and we're going to, I don't know the whole thing about what happens after that. You know, we're going to rule and reign with Jesus. So I'm very excited about that. But this is the point I'm trying to make.

8:40 Oops, there's an anointing here this morning. Wow. This is the point I'm trying to make. Trying to make this point. Jesus talked a lot about the Holy Spirit. He said, wait for the Holy Spirit, wait for the promise. And then we see in Acts chapter two, verse one through four at the birth of the church age, 120 people waiting on God for this powerful Mon high. And the Bible says the Holy Spirit came in like a rushing mighty wind. You know what I love about the Holy Spirit? He is not a mere influence, force, cloud, fire. He is a person with a personality. And when he showed up, he showed up in style. He showed up because he wanted to demonstrate himself.

9:24 He showed up like with a blast. And the Scripture says when the Holy Spirit came, he came in like a rushing mighty wind. You know, the place was filled and the Bible says they appeared unto the disciples or the people up in the upper room. Cloven tongues like as a fire and it sat upon each one of them. I don't really believe that they had fire on top of their heads like we've seen in some of our churches growing up. I believe what they felt was they felt the power of God on top of their heads. Have you ever had the power of God on you so strong that you feel like something is pressing on you? They felt that fire and I'm sure they felt the presence and the power.

10:04 I had a girl that lived with me. She lived, she was from Brazil and I had three kids in one year and I needed a lot of help. So she came and lived with me for a while and I knew she was a Christian believer, but I don't know that I didn't think she had the baptism of the Holy Spirit. So I said to her one day, I said, Huffy, do you want to be filled with the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues? And she says, oh yes, I want that. So I don't know why I did this, but I took her in my mud room bathroom because we have a mud room bathroom and you'll see when you come to my house. And I have this mud room, it's a bathroom next to the mud room that we never use. You don't think you're going to use the mud room and everybody's going to put their shoes in there and their coats in there, all their junk in there, no, that doesn't work.

10:47 Now we just have a room which is ridiculous. But anyway, so I said to her, let's go in, we went into the mud room bathroom and I prayed over her in the bathroom and the Holy Spirit, she knew nothing. Normally I give a lot of scripture when I get people filled with the Holy Spirit. I didn't really give her that much scripture, but when I prayed over her, the Spirit of God came on her and she said, I feel like there's something on my head and I feel like I'm going to fall. I had to sit her down on the toilet seat, put the seat down and sat her down. She had the power of God come on her and then she began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave her out of it. She didn't even know about Acts chapter 2 verse 1 and 2. Didn't even know that cloven tongues like as a fire sat upon them.

11:30 And you know what the next thing that happened was? The very next thing that happened was is they were all filled, every single one of them. Not anybody was left out because this gift is for every single one of us. The Bible says these signs will follow them that believe. They will speak with new tongues. The Bible says they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and they all began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave her. I'm telling you that just makes me so excited. Because the whole Lord said to me, if I talked about the Holy Ghost that much, what was the very first manifestation that happened as a result of His coming?

12:15 They all began to speak with tongues. So there has to be a reason for tongues. There has to be a reason. Now I have a question for you. Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed? Acts chapter 19, look it up. We don't have time to look it up. You do some homework. Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed? The disciples came to a group of believers and he said to them, have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed? They were believers. They were baptized, I think it says in the verse in John's baptism, the baptism of repentance. And they said, we said, no, we have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

12:57 And the Bible says, everybody say the Bible says, let's stick with the Bible. The Bible says that the disciples, I didn't look, I didn't totally read it, but I believe they laid hands on them and the scripture says that they spoke with tongues and immediately they prophesied. Nobody even had to teach them how to prophesy, pastor. They just prophesied. You understand? But they were believers, but they were not yet filled with the Holy Spirit. They had not yet spoken in tongues. What's your point? My point is this. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a separate experience from the new birth. You could be saved because the Bible says that he that is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him.

13:42 When you're saved, you're a new creation in Christ Jesus. When you're saved, you are the temple of the Holy Spirit. God lives in you. He abides in you. You are one with him. He is in you. Are you listening? Through the new birth. But the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a separate experience from the new birth. What did Jesus say? Jesus said in John 7.38, He said there's going to come a time, and He's talking about the Holy Spirit, where out of your innermost being is going to flow rivers of living water. This spake he of the Holy Spirit. So the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a separate experience from the new birth.

14:28 And when you are baptized in the Holy Spirit, and you release that prayer language, that is the river that is coming up out of you. It's the rivers of life coming up out of you. Rivers of living water. It's an overflow of what you already have on the inside of you. Our sister received her prayer language this weekend. Her whole countenance changed. So it's an overflow of what you already have on the inside of you. It's not only an overflow, it's an empowerment for you to work miracles. For you to operate in the gifts of the Spirit. To you to live and move and have your being in signs and wonders, and it not just be something that's extraordinary, it's something that should be normal and ordinary.

15:16 So the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a separate experience from the new birth. And I've talked to people, you know how it is when you are in leadership, because we have many leaders here, you talk to people and they go, well, you know, I am saved, oh yeah, you're saved. But if you want more power, if you want power over sin and power in prayer, power in victory, and makes the Bible just come alive, you get baptized in the Holy Spirit and just start speaking in tongues. It'll revolutionize your walk with God, honest with God. I don't know how people do it without the baptism of the Holy Spirit. And we need to start preaching this again, because we're living in a time in a season where everything is seeker friendly, and we're not supposed to talk in tongues in church.

15:58 We can't talk in tongues. Don't talk in tongues in this church. We have 5,000 people. We don't want to turn anybody away. We need the money to build this church, because we want to build some more campuses. No, no, no, no, no. I'm not compromising. If Jesus talked so much about the Holy Spirit, and talked about tongues, then we need it. I understand that all things need to be done decently in an order, because in the Corinthian church, people were getting out of hand. And so Paul had to come in, and he had to teach them and correct them. But my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, if he said that we needed the baptism of the Holy Spirit, I want it. Okay, are you with me? That was the introduction.

16:38 Woo! Man. So, what is this prayer language? Number one, it is a supernatural means of communication. It's a supernatural means of communication. I have this book on my table. It's called Seven Days with a Witch. And some people are afraid to even pick it up. My assistant won't pick it up. My one daughter wouldn't touch it. But a friend of mine, Don Allen, wrote the book. And in the book, long story short, he was in a position or able, or he was the one that got this woman to be born again and saved and set free.

17:21 She was not only born again, she was in the witch world, in the dark side, she operated witchcraft, all kinds of things. There's so much about this. That's why I like the book, because I want to understand the way the enemy works and expose him. And it helps me as a prayer warrior, as an intercessor, and somebody who teaches prayer to understand these things of doctors, that they really do go to the gates of the city and they really do put curses. You just read the book. But anyway, in the book, and then she, after she got saved, she was the very one that had to renounce the curse. So anyway, one of the paragraphs in the book talks about when she said that as witches and people from the demonic realm, she said when Christians would start speaking in tongues, it completely confused them.

18:10 They didn't understand what they were saying. It confused them. There was one thing they just couldn't figure out. I was prophesying in one of my KIU events up in North, North Jersey, and I learned something from the words that I prophesied, just like I learned so much from this weekend, from all the things that came out. You know, this anointing that we have received abides in us. We need not that any man teach us, but the anointing can teach us through the preacher and teach not only you, but me, the preacher as well. It's the most amazing, incredible thing, the person of the Holy Spirit. But in this prophecy, I must have prophesied, I don't know, about eight minutes, and one of the things the Holy Spirit set out of my spirit was that we have everything that we need to be overcomers in this world.

18:58 We have the name of Jesus, we can worship because prayer steals the avenger, we have the name of Jesus which has power and authority, and then the Spirit said, and you have tongues. And the Spirit said this, and I'll give you Scripture to prove it, because everything should go back into Scripture, all prophecy. Are you listening? It should always match the Bible, the Spirit and the Word, they agree. The Spirit said through me, he said, because when you pray in tongues, he says it comes up out of your spirit, and I thought this was amazing. He said, and it demolishes the strategies of the enemy. Most incredible thing, Google it, it's Margie Fleuron, season of advancement, miracles and shakings.

19:39 It's in that word of prophecy. Can you imagine? He said, the language of heaven, he said, comes up out of you and it demolishes the strategies of the enemy. And then we got Christians, you know, not wanting to pray in tongues. We need to be taught. So it is a supernatural language, it is the language of heaven, and you are speaking to God. 1 Corinthians 14-2, you are not speaking to one another. You're not taught, you know man understands you. You are speaking to God, he understands you. The Scripture says, for he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men, but unto God, for no one understands him.

20:28 How be it in the Spirit, he speaks mysteries. You speak plans, you speak purposes, you speak the will of God for your life. You speak the will of God when you're an intercession for your children. You speak the will of God for your nation. You're not praying your own will, it's your spirit by the Holy Spirit, praying the perfect prayer. And that prayer is just like Revelation 5-8 goes up in the sense before the throne room of God. God hears that kind of prayer, he answers that kind of prayer, and he understands that kind of prayer. He said, my house will be called a house of prayer. And I calling my people to pray out that prayer language, because I want to do some great and mighty things.

21:11 But it is the perfect prayer, and you're not praying your own will, you're praying exactly what needs to be prayed, and I understand you. Prayer opens up the door for God to work. We have not because we ask not. And when we pray in tongues, we're, listen, we're going beyond any kind of English language, or Portuguese, or Spanish, or whatever language you speak. And it's a language that is so expansive it goes beyond anything we could ever utter in our own tongue. I am telling you, I am speaking by Revelation today. Are you listening?

21:51 Thank you Jesus. I remember when I got filled with the Holy Spirit. How many of you remember those of you that already filled? It was the most incredible thing, I was already saved, I was born again, and so on and so forth. I was a child of God, but something on the inside of me said there's more. Right? Remember that? Something on the inside of me said I know there's more, I want, and I got in a group of people like this, and I hung around with, and I heard people like singing in tongues, like Pastor Jamie was doing, and I thought, what is that? I want that. Something on the inside, because the Spirit of Truth will guide you into truth. He will testify of Jesus. He will all, he'll never lead you into error. Something on the inside said that's truth.

22:31 I want that. I would felt right. And so after the service was over, I asked my girlfriend and I, we went up to the leaders, and we said, what is that? And they said, they explained it was tongues and so on and so forth. I said, well we want that. So they prayed over us, and my girlfriend, she immediately started speaking in tongues, very quietly. Now, it seems like I'm a very loud talkative person, but the truth is I'm really not. I'm a very quiet and I'm an introverted person, but when I get in the anointing, it's different. You know, God will turn you into another person. Are you listening? The Holy Spirit will change you and turn you into another person when he's anointed you to do something.

23:15 You just do things you just can't even believe you can do. That's why we can't look at ourselves. The more we look at ourselves and our own ability, the more we become a crippled people. When we look under Jesus and follow after him and do what he is calling us to do, he turns us into another person. We receive power, anointing, boldness when the Holy Ghost has come upon us. He turns us into another person. It's the most incredible thing. So I remember sitting there and I was in my little quiet self, and I remember feeling the power of God and the anointing and this feeling. Like it was a feeling of liquid love. And I felt something bubble up. Some people feel things, some people don't.

23:55 It doesn't matter what you feel. It's by faith you receive and you exercise your prayer language. But in that moment, I did feel a little bubbling and there was something that was coming up that I wanted to say to God that it was bigger than anything I could think of in the English language. It was a big word. I wanted it. It was such a big word. I wanted to express myself to him in a big way. Something big. And because I didn't yield to the Holy Spirit in tongues at that time, the last word I said was, oh God, I was trying to think of a big word because everything was reason, reason, reason. I'm going to reason this out. I'm going to reason it out. Reason, reason.

24:35 I was trying to reason what kind of word I wanted to say. A big word. And the last word I said was, oh God, I go, you're so outrageous. That was a pretty big word in the human language. But I knew that there was something even bigger than that that I wanted to say to him. An utterance, a word, something. And I didn't release my prayer language in that service with those people all around me because I'm a shy person. So when I got in my car, because I was determined, I'm going to have this prayer language. If everybody else has it and it's for me, I'm going to have it. You know, it's like the Nike shoes. You know, they have that thing and their logo is just do it.

25:15 I was thinking, I'm just going to do it. I'm going to step out in faith and I'm going to release my prayer language. And so I got in the car and I was by myself, I just went, what about shatandorabuhu? Irabah sototabahashenderebeheseyanda. And the more I released my language, the more it just flowed. My thought processes weren't involved. I just realized that he that speaks in an unknown tongue speaks not unto men, but unto God. God understands me. I am a spirit. I have a soul. I live in a body. My spirit by the Holy Spirit within me is communicating with the God of the universe. And it's his language. He understands me. So it's a language.

25:56 You're not speaking to men. You're speaking to God. Amplified says, for one who speaks in an unknown tongue speaks not to men, but to God. For no one understands or catches his meaning because in the Holy Spirit he utters secret truths. And hidden things not obvious to the understanding. Number two, your heart is praying. Your heart's praying at your head. Verse 1414 says, for if I pray in a tongue, what is praying? My spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. New Living Translation says, for if I pray in tongues, my spirit is praying, but I don't understand what I'm saying.

26:42 See, that's why a lot of people don't pray in tongues, because they're like, well, I don't understand what I'm saying. So what? Do you understand everything about your life? Do you understand everything about your destiny? Isn't your life, especially these young people, like a mystery to you in some regards? But do you know that when you, even at my age, you know, we're still trying to figure it out? I'm telling you. Some things about your life is still a mystery. But when you pray in tongues, you're praying out of your spirit by the Holy Spirit. You're praying out of destiny, Ecclesiastes 4. Destiny, eternity, your destiny is inside of you. So when you begin to pray in tongues, you're praying that mystery out.

27:26 Listen, you're praying the perfect will of God for your life. Are you listening to what I'm saying to you? Because you're praying out of destiny. You're praying what God had in his heart and had in his mind for you to be fulfilled. He put destiny in your heart. He said, before I ever formed you in your mother's womb, I knew you. I ordained you in Jeremiah's case to be a prophet. So when we don't know what to do and we don't know how to pray, we can pray in tongues. Romans 8, 26 through 28 says that the Holy Spirit helps our infirmity, helps us in our inability to produce results.

28:10 When we pray in tongues, we are praying, listen to this, according to the will of God. And what does the Bible say in 1 John 5, 14? And this is the confidence that we have in him that if we ask anything, according to what his will, we know he hears us. And if we know he hears us, we know we have, we know, we know, we don't doubt. We know that we have the petitions we desire of him. When we speak in an unknown tongue, we're speaking out of our right standing in Jesus Christ, who we are in Christ. I have two, three CDs on that one.

28:50 Do you have that one yet, produced? Oh, see? This is with you in mind, it's called, freedom from insecurity. Yeah, in Christ. In whom? In whom we have redemption. In this, in that, in that, in that, in that, in that. Mine's two and a half CDs. I'm gonna tell you how you can tell what I'm talking about. But when you are praying in tongues, you're praying out of your right standing in Christ. You're not praying in unbelief. You're not missing the mark. You're praying in authority. There's no doubt. There's no worry. There's no confusion. You're praying the perfect will of God for your life. And then all things begin to work together for your good. Let me tell you a story.

29:31 And I'll be closing in about five, ten minutes. Is that okay? About twenty-five after? This is my story, one of my stories, and many stories. But when I got born again, got filled with the Holy Spirit, it's six months later, not even. I found out, I went to Ramabibal Training. Now it's college, but center back then. There's 337 of us students. And when I graduated, I didn't know what to do. Everyone say I didn't know what to do. Do you know what I tell my kids, my young, then the young people, praying tongues, praying the Holy Ghost, especially these young people in high school and they're trying to figure out what they're gonna be in life? Well, you praying tongues, you're praying exactly what you're supposed to be in life.

30:12 You know, there's a lot of pressure in our, I can't even, you know, you got those of you that have millennials, there's a lot of pressure on them. Let me tell you, a lot of pressure. My husband was like, I don't think there's any more pressure on them than there was on us. I said, no, I disagree with you. Because I mentor all these young people. I say it's a different level of pressure and a different level of performance and it's a different level of competition. You're listening. And so that's why I tell my these young people, praying tongues, you know, because I'll tell you, there's so much pressure on them. You know, you got the college people going, we gotta make money, you gotta make money, you gotta make money, you gotta make money. You know, what are you gonna be in life? What are you gonna do in life? We gotta pick a career because if you don't pick a career, if you don't pick a, what's it called, you know, a major, then you know, you're gonna be behind, you gotta pick a career.

31:00 There's just so much pressure. Listen, us, we had wiggle room, didn't we? Like, we didn't, we didn't like, oh, I have to go to college right away and figure out what we were gonna be. We had wiggle room. We just kind of figured it out as we went. And we, you know, I don't want to say we fell into our destiny, but the steps of a good man are ordered and established by God. Not giant leaps. We're throwing these kids into these colleges and we're going, now leap. And the suicide rate is off the charts. I mean, anyway, that's not the story. The point, and I'm gonna say it again, these young people need to be praying in tongues for their lives. I told my kids, guys, pray in tongues. Pray in the Holy Ghost.

31:41 Then I'll, I'll remind them, are you praying in tongues? Okay, mom. I said, I know you don't understand, but trust me on this one. Pray in the Holy Ghost. You know, you know, Danielle's really flowing in her river of destiny. It's just incredible. She prayed a lot in tongues. You know what she would do? She would get on the treadmill and she would pray in tongues the whole time. She'd know what she was praying. She was praying out her destiny. And you know what happened? All things began to work together for the good. She met this young man. She thought it was gonna be something else, but it ended up, he was the young man that led her to this amazing Bible school that's in this church. You know, God will cause things to work together for your good.

32:23 He will bring people into your lives, help into your lives, friendships into your lives, husbands, wives, whatever. It'll cause things to, to come into alignment when you pray in tongues. You know what happens to me when I pray in tongues a lot? Once I start after about five minutes and I'm in my office, I start lining things up. And then I turn it like this and I turn it like that. One day I said to myself, why are you lining things up? And in my heart, I felt like when you're praying in tongues, you're lining things up in the spirit. What's happening on the inside is manifesting on the outside. It's causing things to work together, making the crooked way straight, the rough places plain.

33:03 So when I was 19 years old and I was getting ready at 20 I think at the time, we're getting ready to graduate from RAIMA because I went back a second year, I didn't know what to do. You didn't know what to do. What do you do when you don't know what to do? You pray. How do you pray? Tongues. So I just started praying in tongues. I'd walk the floors, I'd pray in tongues. Father, go before me and prepare the way. It makes the crooked way straight, the rough places plain. Then I don't know what else to pray. How much can you possibly pray? We could play scripture. Thank you, Lord, the steps of good manner order. You could quote scripture. But after you quoted all the scripture you know from Jamie's tapes, then what do you do? You pray your prayer language. It goes beyond anything you could say.

33:44 And it goes into the realm of the spirit and it's a deep kind of prayer, a high kind of prayer, a wide kind of prayer. And I just start praying in tongues. I pray in tongues a lot. Whenever you're entering into a new season you need to start praying extra hard in tongues. Extra more in tongues, not hard. Because when you could whisper tongues, talk loud in tongues. You know, the only time it's really hard to pray in tongues is when you're brushing your teeth. Never try it? I can even lay in bed and go in a sense praying tongues a bit. You know, you can... You know. So I walk before, I pray in tongues a lot. I'm sensing you're coming into a new season.

34:29 So here we go again, saying again. It's coming up, I gotta say. You're coming into a new season and this is a season for you to lay it, take some time and pray in tongues. Now the beauty of praying in tongues is this. You could pray in tongues in your car. You know, it doesn't have to be the secret place like we talked about in our women's routine. You could pray in tongues when you're vacuuming the floor. Elevece, cedaraba, sattara, I don't like vacuuming the floor but I'm doing it anyway. Olabah, sattara, boho, sattara, bah. It doesn't have to be like this intense kind of in the closet focusing in on Jesus. No, you're just praying in tongues. So I pray in tongues a lot. I mean a lot. And then when God sent me to the East Coast, doors just began to open.

35:12 I started out with women's aglow, you know, the steps of a good man. I started out with women's aglow and then somebody would hear about me. Then they'd invite me to their church. Then one church led to another church and all these doors just began to open. Just amazing. And I told you, you know this, I was a first woman in multiple churches on the East Coast, especially the assembly of God churches. It was incredible. And here all the time, you know, the pastor would be, you know, you're the first woman I've ever had in my pulpit. I'd go, really? And I'd get up there, I don't know how I did it back in the day, with a little piece of paper, four scriptures and nails that were so long, it was ridiculous.

35:53 It had to be God. It had to be God. Yes, he does. It had to be God. So incredible. God is so incredible. And then one day I just said, God, why is it that all these doors are opening? He said, you remember all those months you spent with me praying in tongues, praying in tongues? I says, yes. He says, all that prayer and prepared the way for what you're doing now. Body of Christ, we've gotten behind in our praying in tongues. God is reviving our prayer language. I want to read one more scripture. Obviously we didn't get to everything.

36:36 But I want to show you something that I learned when I was preparing for this. You're praying the wisdom of God. We're not going to go there and read it, but I'll quote it. We're praying the wisdom of God. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 2, 7 through 14, that when we speak, the scripture says, we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery. When you're praying in tongues, you're speaking the wisdom of God, Sophia. Are you ready for this? Doesn't James say in 1-5, if you ever need wisdom, let him ask of God? How many of you need wisdom? That word again is Sophia.

37:19 The word wisdom is God's clarity, or God revealed clarity, conveys the Lord's solution. You ready for problem solving? I don't know what to do about this. I don't know what to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. I don't know what to do about this problem. I don't know what to do. You've got to be kidding me. I don't even know where to go. What do I do? Well, you have a prayer language, and when you're praying in tongues, you're praying God's solution. Then how does the answer come? It'll come to you through people. It'll come to you through somebody coming across your path that you just met.

38:01 It'll come through thoughts in your mind. He causes your thoughts to become agreeable with his thoughts, because you're smart people. You know you're smart. In other words, Sophia manifests God's persuasion about problem solving problems or challenges by applying his solutions. Like faith, wisdom is always given by the Lord and reveals how to please him in a particular situation. In short, this is the real clarity. Ultimately, all true spiritual wisdom resides in Christ, the personification of perfect wisdom.

38:42 1 Corinthians 1.30. You're praying the wisdom of God for your life, for your kids, for whatever it is you're praying about. Lastly, when you're praying tongues, the Bible says 1 Corinthians, I just closed my notes on all the exact reference, and I'm going to look at my notes. You're edifying yourself. What's that reference? Let me look at my notes. You're edifying yourself.

39:25 You're edifying. Everybody say edifying. In verse 144, he who speaks in a tongue edifies himself. That word edify is more like charge. It's used in connection. The Greek word is with charging a battery. Therefore, we could paraphrase this verse. He that speaks in an unknown tongue edifies, charges, builds himself up like a battery. Everybody knows that the iPhone battery is horrible. The rumor on the street is that they do this on purpose. I've got a ton of text messages. Can you see them? The rumor on the street is the reason that the battery life on these iPhones goes out is so all of us can buy a new one and spend money.

40:12 I don't know if that's true or not, but I will say this. I am perpetually charging this phone. You know the secret of charging your phone? You don't leave it plugged in all night, all the time. That really burns the battery up. Yeah, that's kind of a secret I learned. Yeah, that burns the battery up. Now, what do you do when your iPhone or I used to have a blackberry more recently? I just recently got rid of it. What do you do when your phone or whatever kind of phone you have, what do you do when it starts to get down to like one bar? You get out your charger and you plug it into the life source, the outlet. When you speak in an unknown tongue, you are plugging yourself into the life source, God the Father, the one who is true wisdom, the one who never grows weary and never fades, the one who watches over his word to perform it, the one who never slumbers or sleeps.

41:13 You are plugging into the life force and you are charging your inner man up. And you go from one bar to two bars to three bars to four bars. I've had multiple times where I was tired spiritually. Have you ever been tired spiritually? You know, you just bored, tired, annoyed. Where is God? Why is God being so quiet? You know, and I refuse to be moved by any of that stuff, any of it. If you want to walk in maturity, you can't be moved by your senses, moved by reason. You've got to be moved by your heart, the word of God. And so when I get like that, I just go, can't I just start walking the floor? Because you know, if you're tired, you lay down on the floor, you sit on a chair, you're going to go to sleep.

41:57 Next thing you know, the spirit is willing, but your flesh is weak. So what I do is, because I refuse to be defeated, I just start walking the floor, start praying in tongues. After about 10, 15 minutes of that, I'm telling you, I get sense, I'm getting charged up. My spirit is being charged up. Try praying in tongues for an hour. Praying in tongues sometimes, challenge yourself. Praying in tongues for two straight hours and see what happens. Really? I'm calling, I'm calling, God, I was going to say, I am calling the church to be stretched. I was just going to come right out of my mouth. I believe God is stretching the church. He wants us to start stretching ourselves. You edify yourself. So, yeah, you know, I just heard my spirit, because I have to quit.

42:43 You know, the anointing just keeps going because you guys keep pulling. Do you know the anointing has a lot to do with who's in the congregation? You know what the apostle Paul said? But you know, the Holy Spirit is a perfect gentleman. We have to close. You know what the apostle Paul said? Why don't we stand? The apostle Paul said, I thank my God. I speak in tongues. He said, he wasn't bragging either. Now that I think of it, I thank my God. He said, I speak in tongues more than you all. So he was like letting them know, listen, I do this a lot. And he wrote two thirds of the New Testament. He had so much wisdom, so much revelation, so much insight.

43:24 As a matter of fact, we're not doing it for this purpose, but you know, I wonder if praying in the spirit opens up the door for more of the manifestation of the gifts of the spirit to operate. I'm wondering, but I also am thinking, Kenneth E. Hagen said, and he to me was my father in the faith. He said, I found that the more I pray in tongues, the more I become susceptible for the gifts of the spirit to come into operation. That's what God is saying to us this weekend. We need to stir up the gift of God.

44:05 So this is what I'm going to do. I don't know if I should have an altar call or just have you all get filled in your seats. Why don't we just get you all filled in your seats? Are you good with that? You think that's good? You're more than I am with managing. Then let's come on up. If you want to be filled with the Holy Spirit and you want the evidence of speaking with tongues, please music. I'm asking you to come up. See, we got one gentleman who's honest. You see, I would never have a message like this and have this much power in anointing if there weren't several people in here. I could actually tell you who you are.

44:48 I'm going to wait. You know the Holy Spirit just said to me, this is really good. So encouraging. He said there's going to be an awakening of tongues in my church. And as my church enters in and begins to exercise their prayer language, it's going to cause an acceleration of this move of God, this awakening that God is igniting in the land.

45:42 And I've called you to go forth and I've called you to preach this word. For many of my people desire me and desire to flow in this river, but they just don't know how and they don't know what it's for. And they are perishing for a lack of knowledge. Praise you, Jesus. But what we're going to do is we're going to go ahead and we're going to pray the prayer of salvation and for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. And if you're in here and you desire to release your prayer language and you didn't come up because you were a little more apprehensive, that's fine. You could receive right in your seat. There's no time, no distance in the spirit. God will meet you right at your seat.

47:05 Okay, so when I pray for you, what's going to happen is you're going to, like I said in this session, you're going to want to say something to God you've never said before. It's not going to be English. I know it's very weird, but once you step out and once you do it, you'll see. You could just do it under your breath. The Bible says when a person speaks in an unknown tongue, he's the one that does the speaking. The Holy Spirit's not going to come on you and make you say or do something you don't want to do. You have to yield to him. Just like I had to yield to the Holy Spirit when I was filled. I didn't yield to him in the beginning, but then when I got my car, I just released my language.

47:48 You see, you form the words in a sense you make up the language because it's you, but it's by the spirit. You're not on your own. So sometimes people go, well, my mouth isn't moving. No, you have to move your mouth. Right? The Holy Spirit's a perfect gentleman. He's not going to go take, grab your mouth like your grandmother did, your Italian grandmother, and move your mouth. You have to do the speaking. So let's all pray this together. Let's, let's pray. Let's lift one hand up to heaven. Let's say this together. Heavenly Father, I come to you today in the name of Jesus, your Son, who gave Himself for me.
