The House of Prayer Part 1

0:00 you pray it and he can answer it. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. God will put the prayer in your heart to pray so that he can answer it. Goes into the hearts of the people, doesn't return void, it produces results. Good evening. Stella, honey, if you could just get me a bottle of water, that would be great. How is everyone tonight? There seems to be a fire theme tonight. You think I wore the right outfit?

0:43 I feel a little bit like I'm on fire. Before we get into the word tonight, I just wanna thank you, hon. Oh, there was one up here, didn't see it, but thank you. I just wanna share with you that we did bring our books again tonight. We sold out of Encounter God through prayer. It's so interesting to me because Pastor Tricia, of course, is in the flow and the rhythm of the Holy Spirit, where all the other leaders are. That book is very foundational, as well as what we're doing here on Wednesday night, last week and this week, foundational principles of prayer.

1:29 And that particular book, Encounter God, is very foundational. So we brought more with us for those of you that want it, and those of you that are online, you can order the book through margithleront.org. I have a book that I didn't introduce last week called Focus, Eliminating Distractions for Enhanced Spiritual Vision. This birth was booked after about a two-year period of just spending time in the presence of God, whereby God told me, don't go anywhere, don't do anything, don't take any speaking engagements, I have something I wanna teach you. And he taught me out of Hebrews 12, one through two. And that's the scripture that says that we're surrounded by the great cloud of witnesses, and that we're to lay aside every weight and the sin that would so easily beset us, and the Amplified says, and looking away from that which would distract.

2:21 And God showed me that as believers, we look unto him, but there's times where we look away from him and we are distracted. And just to give you a few highlights, one of the distractions, the enemies of spiritual vision is offense, and I put that one first because I always am working on my love walk, and one day I was confessing the word of God, 1 Corinthians 13, how are you gonna get it in your heart unless you speak it out of your mouth and meditate on it, amen? So in the Amplified, I was reading through it, and I came across the Amplified version where it says, love doesn't suffer long, and it pays no attention, Amplified says, to a suffered wrong.

3:10 And the Lord said to me, you're paying more attention to that person that hurt you and offended you than you are to me, and you are distracted. So then there's people pleasing, self-absorption, you know, that the more we look to ourselves, the more we become a crippled people. We're to look unto Jesus, he's the author and the finisher of our faith. It's not about us, we become crippled because we can't do this on our own. The easy road, the noise of the enemy, I am distracted, the psalmist said, at the noise of the enemy, and I've experienced that many, many times, especially in public ministry, whereby, you know, God gives you a word and there's all this warfare in the mind.

3:55 The battleground is the mind. And if we could conquer it in the mind, we can conquer the enemy. And so he just taught me about that. Discouragement, discouragement is the beginning of the loss of vision. Then there's the treasures of this world, the reliance on our own works, weariness and so on and so forth. So this is one of my favorite books, who wants it? I'm gonna give it to Sam, is that, you're name's Sam? God bless you. You're speaking on Saturday? 4:35 And then we have prayer for the ministry gifts. This is a very light read. This was before I was perfected in my writing skills and had a really good editor. But this particular book is how to pray for the leadership in ministry. You know, you can't pray your own will or your own plans or your own offenses on the leadership that is witchcraft prayers. Hello? You know, the apostle Paul said, pray for us. The apostle asked for prayers many times. Pray for us, pray for what? That the door would be open. Pray for us, why? That the word of the Lord would have free course and that we would be delivered from unreasonable and wicked man.

5:20 So this is just a prayer on how to pray for the leadership. Who wants this book? Okay, this little girl in the green. Okay, go ahead. I'll give you the next one, honey. Then we have Marked for Intercession. This was my very first book. We're only gonna be able to highlight intercession tonight because my assignment is to talk about all manner of prayer, all different kinds of prayer. But we're going to definitely highlight intercession. But if you wanna know more about the prayer of intercession, there's 26 chapters in this book. And I'd like to give it to the little girl because I said I would.

6:02 But I would like to give you Encounter God if that's okay. That would probably be more appropriate for her. So make sure before you leave she gets the book. Okay, remember that, okay? But I'm gonna give this book to you. Yes. God bless you. And lastly, we introduced this last week, Contends, my recent book, Stewarding the Hearts and Destinies of Our Children Through Prayer. And I forgot to tell you that there's outlines in the back of each book, each chapter. And one of the editors wanted to do that because he said you could turn it into a Bible study and it could be used in churches and Bible study in groups and that way they have it already right there.

6:49 I said, well, I'm not doing it, you do it. This book took me forever to write and I am not doing anymore. How many of you have ever written a book and you know what I'm talking about? So anyway, there is an outline. I say many things about how to pray for your children. Also, I bring in this book, The Prayer Alerts and how the Spirit of God will speak to you in regards to prayer assignments for your children. So who would like this one? Okay, over here. 7:38 Verse seven says, we're gonna begin here. I love how the worship team picked the songs, don't you? I love how we're all flowing in the rhythm of the Holy Spirit. It says here in verse seven, even them, who's the them he's talking to and referring to? He's referring to you and he's referring to me. He's referring to King of Kings and he's referring to all of you that are online, even them. What is he gonna do for us? Psalms 92, 10, he is going to anoint us with fresh oil in our prayer time and in our prayer lives. There is another dimension of, I'm saying this prophetically, this is not in my notes.

8:21 There is another dimension of anointing that is going to begin to rise up and come upon the believers in this day, in this hour. Because prayer opens up the door for God to work. And we have not because we ask not. And so what God desires to do in this day and in this hour is he desires to do some great and mighty things. But in order for him to do those great and mighty things, men and women have to stand in the gap, put up their head and begin to press into God like they never have before. Prayer was a practice of the early church. And what happened in the early church?

9:02 Great grace was upon them all. And signs and wonders and miracles followed the preaching of the gospel, whereby at times while Peter yet spake the word, the Holy Ghost fell on all them that heard the word. So prayer is important to God. Prayer is important to the move of God in this day and in this hour. And if we don't enter in and we don't yield to the spirit of grace and supplication, we are not gonna see the desires of God's heart manifested in this day and in this hour. So it's very important that we respond to him. Now there's two places he's telling me we need to respond.

9:46 Number one, we need to respond in our own prayer closets. At home, in your prayer closet, wherever you pray by yourself, Matthew 6, 6. When you pray, go into your closet, shut the door. My Father that sees in secret will reward you openly. He will anoint you with first oil in the place of prayer. He will cause you to see and hear and know in the secret place of prayer, not just publicly. The gifts of the spirit are not just for public assembly. They could be used in the secret place of prayer. And God desires to open up the eyes of our understanding, give us a spirit of wisdom and revelation concerning what is taking place in the earth today.

10:31 Why? So that we can abort the plans and purposes of the enemy. So this anointing is not for ourselves. It is a gift of Godless any man should boast. This anointing is to prepare the way for the second coming and the return of Jesus Christ. You know He's coming soon. And this is not just a cliche. All the signs and all the things are pointing to the fact that one day Jesus is gonna come back and He's gonna take His bride away. But first we've gotta get a lot of people saved. God said, I would that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.

11:13 Well through our prayers we can snatch them up out of the fire hating even the garments spotted by the flesh. So there's gonna come an anointing in your personal prayer time in your prayer closets. I love it when I prepare, prepare, prepare, notes, notes, pages, pages, pages, then He takes me off in another direction. But that's gonna begin to happen in your personal time with Him. Your intimate time with Him. He's going to be anointing you with fresh oil. And it's not for ourselves. It's for what He desires to do in this day and in this hour. And how many of you are ready for it? And He's gonna take you in your personal intimate time with Him into dimensions of prayer where heretofore you have not yet walked in.

12:02 Now I said to the Lord, I said, Lord when I was 19 years old, Lord teach me to pray. I had Kenneth E. Hagen as an example, but I cleaned his house and everything, but I didn't hang around him closely. I just saw him minister publicly. And so my heart cry was Lord teach me to pray. And as a young girl, a young Christian, I would go into a closet because the Bible says when you pray go into a closet. And I would shut the door and I just did what the Bible said. I would pray according to 1 Timothy 2, I would pray first of all for all those that are in authority that why?

12:46 That we may lead a quiet and peaceable life for kings and all those that are in authority. That we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. So I just did what the Bible said. I would pray first of all for the leadership in the land, in the United States of America. And then I would have my list. And my list would have all these things that I saw in the natural of things going on around me. And then one day the Lord said to me, how many of you know my sheep hear my voice? The Spirit said to me, he said, I'm gonna teach you how to pray in a different dimension. The same way you're led by my Spirit in everyday life, I'm going to lead you and I'm gonna guide you in your prayer time with me, your time alone with me.

13:35 With me, everyone say with me. You know, he's there in the secret place with you. How many of you realize that? Sometimes it's good to practice visualization. He's there, he said I'm there. I'll never leave you, I'll never forsake you. I'm with you always, I'm there. Act like it's so, don't be so distracted. And so I said, all right. And then he began to lead me and guide me by his Spirit in the secret place of prayer. And that's when it became fun. That's when there was a greater anointing. That's where the Bible says the heart of the King is in the hand of the Lord.

14:15 He turns it whatsoever way he wills. And he would give me prayer burdens and prayer assignments. And I would see people's faces. And I would have compassion for people. And I would even at times operate in tongues and interpretation of tongues in my time along with God. What do you mean by that? I'd be praying in the Holy Ghost and I'd get so lost in the Holy Ghost. I would find myself interpreting my own tongues whereby that which is in, Sam gets it, that which is in my spirit came up and was articulated in my own native tongue which is English.

14:57 And I would find myself praying for nations. At times before I'd speaking engagements, I would find myself praying out names of people. And I would pray for them, go before, prepare the way. And by the time I got up there to minister, I'd already broken through to victory. I already did what Romans 15, one says in Galatians 6, two. I already prayed and lifted up with the idea of completely removing a scruple of conscience off of them and broke the power of the enemy off of them. And by the time they came to the meeting, I'd lay hands on them and pop, pop, fizz, fizz, they were healed.

15:37 So God began to teach me how to pray in my own personal time with him. And I know what I was gonna say, thank you Holy Ghost. See, some of you are bored in prayer. And don't look at me like you don't know what you're talking about and you're all holy and you're all that. Some of you online, you are bored in prayer. God said, I'm gonna anoint you with fresh oil. And the anointing that's here is flowing up and going through that camera and right where you are and right where you are sitting and he is anointing you with fresh oil. Some of you are bored in prayer, but God said, I'm gonna anoint you with fresh oil. You're bored in prayer because you've gotten into works.

16:20 I didn't say it's coming up out of my spirit. Why do I have to say it? Why do I have to say all these things? You've gotten into works, it's time to rest. Let his presence lead, guide and direct and you'll begin to enter into a new flow and a new rhythm of the Holy Spirit like he's been endeavoring to bring you into. But we've gotta lay aside the flesh. We've gotta cast down imaginations. We've gotta lean not to our own understanding and trust in him with all of our hearts. And when we feel the Holy Ghost rising up and go, I want you to pray about this, we need to yield more fully over onto him.

17:05 How many of you have had times where you know the Holy Ghost would give you a prayer assignment and you'd be like, there's nothing wrong with that person. There's nothing going on over here or over there. And the Holy Ghost, see, the Spirit of God knows and sees things you and I don't see and know. He also knows the needs and he also knows how to get the job done. That's why I say thank God for praying in the Holy Ghost. When I don't know what to pray, I don't know how to pray, I thank God for the Holy Ghost because the Bible says he that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the spirit because he makes intercession according to the plan of God, according to the will of God.

17:48 And this is the Bible say, and this is the confidence that we have in him that if we ask anything according to his what, will, we know he hears us and what, we know that we know that we know we have the petitions we desire of him. So when you pray in the Holy Ghost, you're praying according to the will of God. We have neglected this great kind of praying, praying in the Holy Ghost. We need to stir it up. But I don't know what I'm saying. That is very Bible. When you pray in tongues, you don't speak to people but you speak unto God directly and he understands you. So there's coming a fresh anointing in your personal intimate time with him.

18:31 I said all that to say this. And you're gonna operate in this spirit of seeing and knowing in your prayer closet. And I hear the Holy Ghost saying, but you're not supposed to tell everything you're praying about. Some secret things belong between you and God. And I learned a long time ago that if I tell any of those secrets that he's giving me specifically, especially in the place of prayer, I'll grieve the Holy Ghost, the anointing will lift and he'll stop telling me things. So you've got to be very sensitive to the Holy Spirit.

19:12 And if he begins to reveal things to you and you pray it through to victory, I personally don't tell people. I just wait. And I watch. And I wait. And I watch. One time I had a prayer assignment for a ministry leader. And this particular ministry leader, oh, he was actually one of my assignments. You know what I mean by that? I just always had him on my heart, him and his wife. And if the Holy Ghost needed somebody to pray for him, I would pick up that assignment and I would say yes.

19:54 Do you know if the devil can get to the top, he can get to the people. So the way, listen, the way the assignment came is through a dream. In the dream, I saw his wife going up to him and his head would swell up on the right side and she'd lay hands on him and it'd swell up on the left side. And she'd lay hands on him, swell up on the right side, lay hands on him, swell up on the left side, she laid hands on him. And she just couldn't get the healing to stay. And so I woke up and when I, upon awakening, I knew that the Holy Spirit was going to come to me.

20:37 I knew that's a prayer assignment. There's something going on. Everybody say something's going on. I picked it up through a dream this time because the assignments can come through compassion. You have that person on your heart. You can't get them off your heart. You have so much love for them or you see their name or you just can't, you don't realize what is that love? That's the Holy Ghost, that's a prayer assignment. Prayer is always to be born out of a heart of love, especially the prayer of intercession. And so I took care of my kids. I put them on the bus, you know, because you got to do natural things. You know, we're not all that.

21:18 Ooh, I have a prayer assignment. You know, how many of you know what I'm talking about? No, you got to do natural things. We're in the world, we're not out of the world. We got to live in the world. And so I got the kids on the bus and the minute I went into my prayer closet, now it's an office, because what happened is I learned how to pray. I went from a place that was dark and enclosed, but I was able to focus and enter in in a bigger room, in a bigger room, in a bigger office this time. So I went into my office, I shut the door, and the minute I hit the floor praying, now I can't pray on my knees anymore, I sit in the chair because, you know, the knees, my knees.

22:07 But I hit the floor and I started praying. The minute I hit the floor, I was instantly praying in tongues. I didn't know what to pray, I didn't know what the dream meant, I had no knowledge, I prayed in the Holy Ghost, I prayed in the Holy Ghost, I prayed in the Holy Ghost. Sometimes I'd pray with what I call the inner workings of the Holy Spirit, Romans 8, with groanings that cannot be uttered in articulate speech or your regular kind of speech, but it is a language of heaven and God understands the groanings in the Spirit. When Jesus was at the tomb of Lazarus, the Bible says he wept, he groaned in the Spirit, he was troubled, and then he said to his father, he said, Father, I thank you that you hear me, and you hear me always when I pray.

22:49 What was the results of that prayer? Lazarus came forth, he that was dead came forth, he was still bound, but Jesus said, loose him and let him go, and the grave clothes came off. So that's the kind of praying I had. I didn't know what it meant. My head is going, what is this kind of praying? As a matter of fact, contend I talk a lot about that dimension of prayer, because we don't hear too much about this dimension of prayer. I talk a lot about this dimension of prayer. I even quote from Arthur Wallace. Do you remember him, that book Prayer in the Spirit? I don't even think it's available anymore, but I entered into that kind of prayer, and I'm just gonna say it, just stay with me.

23:31 We're talking about the art of intercession, which as you know, I said we weren't gonna talk a lot about. We don't know everything, now do we? Right? A man plans his ways, and the Lord directs his steps. Sometimes if we plan too much, we'll miss God, and miss the flow of the anointing. So I got my kids on the bus at nine, 10 o'clock, 11 o'clock, 12 o'clock, 12 o'clock I'm getting hungry. Stopped praying, but the burden was still here. Where was the burden? Right here. How do you describe it?

24:14 Describing spiritual things, how do you describe spiritual things? It's a burden. I think someone in the prophets said the burden, the burden of the word of the Lord, it's something on the inside, it's a burden. It has form, it has shape, you carry it. It's like being pregnant with a baby. It's in there, but people around you can't see it until it really starts to grow. So I got hungry. So when I got up off of my place of prayer, I went in, I put the water in the oatmeal, and put it in the microwave, and I heated it up, and I stirred it, and the whole time, I'm more conscious of what I had on the inside of me than what I had going on on the outside.

25:01 And so I put salt in my oatmeal, and I put a little olive oil in my oatmeal. How many of you know that's the Italian way to eat oatmeal? Does anybody here know what I'm talking about? It's the olive oil. I ate my lunch, always conscious that something on the inside was not born. And so I went back into my office, went into the room, shut the door, the minute I hit the floor, that kind of praying began to emerge. I was praying in the Holy Ghost. So that's 12, one, two, about 2.30. Now that's a lot of praying.

25:41 Well, you see, the Holy Spirit and God is, He doesn't measure things on time. There's no time or distance in the Spirit. So we measure things on time, but there's no time or distance in the Spirit. Now obviously we're gonna have, we're gonna yield to time because people have to go home, and it's a Wednesday night. But in the Spirit, there is no time. These people that have these near-death experience, they say they get to heaven, and there's no time. They don't even open up their mouths to communicate. It's just telepathically. You think it, you hear it with each other. So about 2.30, I was praying in the Holy Ghost, that inner working, that I think it's a, I don't know, there's something, there's an anointing.

26:27 And so all of a sudden, I found myself, it came up out of my spirit. With long life, I will satisfy you and show you my salvation. And I listened to myself say it, and I said, that's from Psalms 91? So I got a clue into the mystery about what I was praying about. Everyone say a clue. So when you pray in the Holy Ghost, you're speaking what? Mysteries. Sometimes God will give you what? A clue into the mystery of what you're praying about. So my eyes went like, oh, the devil's trying to kill him.

27:09 So I just kept praying and praying. All of a sudden, I felt a pop on the inside. How do you describe it? I describe it like a release, like a joy, like the burden has lifted, like hallelujah, like laughter, like happy, like light. And I was like laughing and happy, and you gotta understand the kind of mother that I still am, but now the kids are older, was back in the day. The kids were, the bus stop was like, you know where I live. The bus stop was half a block away.

27:51 I would always get in my minivan and go pick the kids up at the bus stop because I just wanted to be with them. But that was one day that they walked home from that bus stop, half a block. They walked in, my daughter opens the door. She goes, hey, mommy, what do we have for a snack? And I looked at her, because when you're in that place of prayer, you're in the spirit, because you're more conscious of what's going on in here than you are natural conscious. And I still was like in the spirit. I looked at her, I said, I got it. Meaning I broke through the prayer assignment, intercession, and she says, that's great, mama, what do we have for a snack?
