The Purpose and Results of Praying in Tongues | Part 1

0:00 You pray it and he can answer it. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. God will put the prayer in your heart to pray so that he can answer it. Goes into the hearts of the people, doesn't return void, it produces results. This is fun for me because I'm connecting with old friends and making new friends and I hope to make some new friends in many of you. I just bought a home in Lakewood Ranch by the divine direction and appointment of the Holy Ghost and I just know that my steps are being ordered by him as well as each and every one of you.

0:45 So is there a clock anywhere? So I have, oh, oh I can't really see it. So I have my phone. I had to take my watch off because I left my dog at the house and he's been continuously barking and I'm like, I can't deal with you right now. I have a job to do for God so I just took my watch off. So yes, we do have books. I did bring my books for you. I'm just gonna briefly introduce a few of them. This is Encountering God Through Prayer. In this particular book, I take the reader from the point of just begin where you are.

1:28 Begin with 15 minutes and the Lord will perfect that which concerns you in your prayer time. Begin with 15 minutes, find a quiet place, get a journal, focus your attention on Jesus, use your spiritual imagination. I talk about the fact that the Bible says that when you come to God, you must believe that he is. Well, who is he? So we had to introduce the heart of the father, who he is, his character, his nature because if we are praying to an unknown God, we're not gonna get results into our prayers.

2:10 And then the book ends with taking the reader all the way into contemplative prayer. So who would like this book? Ah, this young lady right here. We're all young ladies around here. You're welcome. Then I have this book. This is my recent book. This one I went ahead and self-published. This is called Contend Stewarding the Hearts and Destinies of Our Children Through Prayer. I talk about the three dimensions of prayer in this book. I talk about all the promises of God concerning our children that are yes and amen. I talk about groaning in the spirit and giving birth to the destiny of your child.

2:53 I talk about prayer burdens and prayer alerts and how they come because in the natural, it can look one way, but in the realm of the spirit, God sees things that are trying to come up the road ahead to try to influence our kids and so on and so forth. I talk about prayer burdens, how they come, what they look like, what they feel like. So here in the back it says, make no mistake about it. There is war over the hearts and destinies of the generations that are in the earth today. Be prepared and equipped to pray. So who wants this book? We sold a lot of these. I'll give it to this young lady here.

3:34 We sold a lot of these yesterday and I didn't know how many books to bring, but I just brought a bunch of them in and thank God I did. Really quickly, this is decision time. This is the prayer of, the place in the prayer of surrender. This is the prayer whereby you pray that when you are at a crossroad in your life and you don't know what way to go, what to do, and you're having conflict between your soul and your spirit, you go into this place of prayer like Jesus did in the Garden of Gethsemane and you say unto him, Lord, not my will, but your will be done. My soul is exceedingly sorrowful unto death.

4:17 I don't know what to pray. And this is the kind of prayer that you could pray if it be your will over and over and over again. You can't pray if it be your will when you're trying to pray or when you're not trying, when you are praying to get your own needs met. You believe, you receive, and you go your way and you thank him for it when you pray according to the will of God. But this is the kind of prayer that you pray when you don't know what to do. And I decided, I'm gonna give this book to you. And Pastor Anthony. I decided that I would add in there, I know you know how to hear the voice of God, but I decided to add in there how to hear the voice of God because I think that's also important.

4:59 But lastly, really quickly, I really like this book a lot. This book was written in a time in my life where the Lord told me not to take any more speaking engagements, to sit down. He had some things he wanted to teach me. And so for about 18 months, the scripture that, this is the book is founded, the foundational scripture for this book is Hebrews 12, one and two, that we are running a race and we are to look unto Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith, and look away from anything amplified that would distract. And God gave me all these, this whole entire book about overcoming the distractions.

5:46 Some of them are offense. One day I was in my office and I was working on my love walk and I was reading out of 1 Corinthians 13 and the amplified says concerning 1 Corinthians 13 and love, that love pays no attention to a suffered wrong. And the Lord said to me, you're paying more attention to that person and what he did to you than you are to me, the author and the finisher of your faith and you, my daughter, are distracted. So it began with being corrected, of course. And then we have people pleasing, self-absorption.

6:26 I mean, Lisa touched on some of this yesterday. It was a powerful message. The more we look toward the Lord, the more we look to ourselves, the more we become a crippled people. We are what we are by the grace of God. There's no other way to look at it. The easy road, some are distracted by the easy road, the noise of the enemy. The Bible says in Psalms, I am distracted at the noise of the enemy. How many of you ever had just so much warfare? So I talk about that. I don't wanna get into any many more of the chapter titles because I don't wanna take any more time, but who would like this book? 7:08 And Pastor Pam sent me a sunflower the other day. Must be a thing around here. And then I've got these, prayer protection for America. Whatever I had left, I brought. You could just grab one of these. It's a prayer according to Psalms 91 that you pray for our nation, okay? So let's go ahead and get into the word. Let me just check my time. All right. Today, I have this on my heart. Prayed about it, thought about it. And the Spirit of God wanted me to share with you today. The title is The Purpose and Results of Praying in Tongues. Amen.

7:48 Amen. Woo! Now Jesus spoke often about the Holy Spirit and His coming. The New Testament, the Holy Spirit and His coming was referred to 264 times. And in the epistles or the gospels, 60 more times the Holy Spirit is talked about. And we find in Acts chapter one, verse eight, that the very last words that Jesus said before He went up into the cloud and disappeared, the very last words He said to His disciples were this.

8:30 He said, wait, tarry ye here until you be endued with power from on high. And when you are endued with power from on high, dunamis, you are going to be witnesses for me in Jerusalem, Judea, Syria, Egypt, and then eventually the uttermost parts of the world. So those were the very last words that Jesus spoke. And we find that 500 people were in the upper room waiting for the promise of the Father, right? 500 started out, but how many of you know that there were only 120 that were left in that upper room?

9:14 Now I just wanna throw this out there. And I feel like you're the remnant. I feel like this is a remnant church. You gotta hear what I'm saying. Prophecy isn't always just one on one. Sometimes there's what we call prophetic preaching. So take heed to the Spirit of the Lord. I believe this is a remnant church. And there was only 120 people left in the upper room because they got discouraged, they got grieved, they thought God's promises were not yesterday. They thought God's promises were not yesterday, man. They got up and they walked away from their destiny. I don't know about you, but I know beyond any shadow of a doubt that I would be, and I say this with all true confidence, I would have been one of the 120 that would have been left in the upper room because if God said it, that settles it.

10:11 If God said it, he is not a man that he should lie, neither the son of man that he should repent. He is going to make it good. So if he said that there's revival coming to the state of Florida, I want you to wait, and I want you to tarry and wait for this promise. I'm gonna stand in faith and I'm gonna believe God that yes, what God has spoken, he is going to make good. And I'm not backing off, I'm not backing away. I'm gonna stand on the promises of God. Because my friends, discouragement is the beginning of the loss of vision. And I travel all over, and there are some churches, some places, some people, they have become discouraged and their eyes are clouded.

10:58 I pray in the name of Jesus that God would anoint the body of Christ with I salve that we may see clearly that which he desires to do in these last days. Because you don't have to really be a rocket scientist Christian to understand that we are living in the last days. So this is not a time for us to draw back. It's a time for us to press in and press on, get our heads out of the sand, lift up our eyes and look, the end is drawing near. But I'm gonna say this, when that day of Pentecost had fully come and it was the fullness of time, I believe that we as a body here, we're entering into the fullness of time.

11:43 Something's about to give birth, something's about to be born. You are like in your ninth month of pregnancy, so to speak, but there's coming a place where we've got to enter into prayer. And it's the place where Zion travails. Zion takes a hold of with the help of the Holy Spirit, and Zion comes in and says, I don't know what to pray. I don't know how to pray. I prayed everything I know to pray in English. I've prayed the word of God. Now I've got to enter in and trust the Holy Spirit to help me give birth to this thing. 12:27 And we pray in the Holy Ghost, and sometimes with groundings that cannot be uttered in articulate speech or a regular kind of speech. All I have to say is thank God for the Holy Ghost. Thank God Jesus said we wouldn't be orphans. Thank God Jesus said, Jesus said, he said we wouldn't be helpless. Thank God he said that we would have a helper come alongside to help, not just in our preaching, but in our prayers. And we've got to trust in the Holy Ghost now more than ever. We don't really know how to pray. How do you pray for the gender confusion?

13:07 How do you pray for all this that's been going on, even concerning the Olympics? I don't wanna get into it. There's so much darkness in the earth. Darkness grows, darkness has been covering the earth. I said this 15, 20 years ago, to try to prepare the church for what was coming. The darkness has covered the earth, but the glory of God is rising within the body of Christ because it's not by might nor by power, but it's by the Spirit, the living God, that we are gonna take possession of all that God has called us to take and we are gonna be everything God has called us to be. But we can't do it on our own.

13:48 We need the help of the Holy Ghost. Everyone say the help of the Holy Ghost. You are a Holy Ghost people. I said you are a Holy Ghost people. I like what I heard Kenneth Hagin say and David T. De Boa, too much word we dry up. Too much Spirit we blow up. Get a combination of the word and the Spirit and we grow up. So we find in the book of Acts, Acts 2, 1 through 4, when the day of Pentecost had fully come. There's something about this word I can't get away from.

14:28 Fully come. We are in a place of a season of fully come. We haven't come this far for nothing. We've come to this door. We've come to this place and it's time for that door to open. You're right at the place of the open door, but there's many adversaries. There's many tricks. Many schemes and plans of the enemy. The God said, I prayed for you that your faith fail not and you will go in and you will go through that open door, but you need the help of the Holy Ghost and I want my house right here to enter into a greater measure of prayer because prayer, oh this is so good today, prayer opens up the door for God to enter.

15:19 Or for God to work. So I see Psalms 92, 10 coming upon you and overtaking you. God is going to anoint this body with fresh oil in the place of prayer and those of you that are listening online, there's a prayer movement, there's brewing in the land and God is raising you up to be a house of prayer as never before. So there is that door. So we can't knock that door down in our own strength. It's not by might nor by power, but it's by my spirit says the Lord. So remember when we were talking about the day of Pentecost fully coming?

16:00 Am I gonna get through my nose today? After all this talk about the Holy Spirit, right? And the emphasis that Jesus put on the Holy Spirit, what happened? When the day of Pentecost had fully come, right where you are, how many of you feel frustrated? You don't have to raise your hand. How many of you feel a sense of frustration? A sense of something's gotta give, a sense of something's going on, a sense of God's got something else but I don't quite know what it is. You feel stuck. That's a good place to be. Because that means God is about to do a brand new thing.

16:46 And what you sense on the inside is perception and but your heart is crying, what is it? That's why I thank God for praying in tongues. When I don't know what to pray, I pray exactly what it is. And the answer and the exact will. So when the day of Pentecost had fully come, they're all in one accord, one place. I believe God wants to revive United Corporate Prayer Meetings. I don't believe, I know, to be honest. I have a church in South Jersey, Joe Source. How many of you know Joe? Two years ago he asked me to do, I'm not gonna get into it, I called it Book of Acts Prayer where we all prayed together, we all prayed at once, but we changed the name to Prayer School.

17:31 It meant still all the same thing. Two years we've been praying all together all at once and prophetically I've been leading them into his prayer assignments. I have another group, this is a group of about, I don't even know how many churches, to be honest, 30 something, 40 maybe churches. We're gonna do a Zoom meeting where we're gonna gather all the churches together and he's asking me to lead it. Thank God for the Holy Ghost. Because it's not easy leading people in prayer. Am I right? And I believe that what God wants to do is he wants to restore the corporate prayer meetings. Because it's just gonna be like Genesis 11.

18:12 They had one mind, one vision, they were in one accord, they all spoke the same thing, believed the same thing, but it was something negative, they were building the Tower of Baal. So God had to come down, he had to confound their speech. Well how about when we all gathered together, we have one heart, one vision, we all walk in love, we all love each other, we all wanna see revival take place in this community, in this land, in this region. And then we have a universal language. Which is what? Tongues. The Bible says now nothing will be impossible to us, which we have imagined to do. God is able to do for you, listen, exceedingly, abundantly, above all, you could ask, hope, dream, or desire, you've got a dream, you've got a vision, just remember God can do and will do exceedingly, abundantly, above all, you could ask, hope, dream, or desire.

19:09 I think we need to dream bigger. I don't think we're dreaming big enough. I think that's part of the self-absorption. I know for me it is. I look at myself, I'm like, God, I'm dreaming big enough. I look at myself, I can't do it. I struggle with this, and I struggle with that, and oh my gosh, the dog's barking continuously, I had to take my watch off. It's just like, it's just, we have all these things, we're looking at ourselves. God says, I want you to look at me. I can do exceedingly, abundantly, above all, you could ask, hope, dream, or desire. That's why he said it's by my spirit, says the Lord.

19:54 See, that's why I like this region, because a lot of us are over 50, right? So it's not a time for us to retire, it's a time for us to refire. I'm just going to retire, I'm going to go on the boat, and I'm going to drive around on the boat, and I'm going to have my three olives with my martini, and I'm going to have my Chardonnay, and I'm going to hang out with the dolphins, and swim with the dolphins. There's nothing wrong with swimming in the dolphins or going on a boat. But I don't know about you, but that's, and sharks, that's boring to me. My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

20:35 God's not finished with you yet. You retirees, God's not finished with you yet. You have more wisdom, more knowledge, more word. God wants to use you as mentors, as leaders, as pioneers. Ooh, gosh, okay. So when the day of Pentecost was fully come, what happened? The Holy Ghost was poured out, and the very first manifestation of the outward expression of the Holy Spirit's indwelling presence was this.

21:15 You listening online? And some of you need to get back in church. There's, here I'm going to do the Italian. Come on, get back in church. It's the corporate anointing. And I believe Acts 10, 44 is gonna begin to happen, where while we preach the word, the Holy Ghost is gonna fall on those that hear the word.

22:00 And signs, and wonders, and miracles are going to begin to manifest. This is the season of the power gifts manifesting in this day and in this hour. Come and be a part of it. When you least expect it, Acts 10, 44 is gonna happen. The power of God's gonna come upon you. The power of the Most High is gonna overshadow you. And the Holy Ghost is gonna begin to heal people, not by might, nor by power, nor even by laying on of hands, but by His Spirit. Like in the days of Catherine Coleman. She didn't even know what was going on in the beginning. She people were getting healed.

22:41 She just, she'd get up there and preach. And by the way, she was a divorced woman. The enemy takes the foolish things of this world to confound the wise, because he wants everybody to know, this movement is not a man's movement, not a denominational movement. This is a Jesus movement. This is a Jesus movement of me, the same yesterday, today, and forever. And I am the Lord God. I change not. Nothing is too hard for me. And in my earthly ministry, I went about doing good, healing all who are oppressed of the devil.

23:25 And I believe that Jesus in us is arising. And I believe we're going, I don't believe it, I know it. We're going to see the demonstration of the gift of faith, working of miracles and gifts of healings. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. These are the, there are, listen, there are nine gifts of the Holy Ghost. The prophetic movement have picked up on the word of wisdom, word of now, discerning of spirits. You don't even see tongues and interpretation much anymore, because people have neglected tongues so much. Anyway, what's another story? Prophecy. But do you know that there's nine of them?

24:08 The Bible says to covet earnestly. Crave, desire, right? We desire to be healed. We desire our loved one to be healed. We desire them to be free of cancer. We desire it. What about desiring the gifts of the Spirit, where no man is involved, and no person's faith is involved. It's just the grace of God. Catherine Coleman, read her books. Online people, Catherine Coleman, read her books. People got healed on the way to church, because it wasn't a man's movement, it was a Jesus movement. So it's a gift of faith.

24:50 The gift of faith takes a hold of the miracle. If there's a working of miracles. Do you know that when the Red Sea was parted, that was a working of miracles? You never thought of it like that? It was a working of miracles. When the blind man was healed, that was a working of miracles, along with gifts of healings. How many of you are ready for that? I believe that's part of that open door that the enemy's trying to hinder us from going through. Can I? So tongues was the first thing that was manifested. You understand that I have six pages of notes. Pastor can confirm it, and my media guy can confirm it. But I'm gonna have to follow the Holy Ghost. We good with that? Yeah. So tongues was the very first thing that manifested.

25:34 I have a friend who wrote a book called Seven Days with a Witch. Yeah. They got her saved. She was like a John Ramirez. It's a whole nother story. She was a high, high level witch. Like for real. You know there's witches in the world? Do you know that witches come to church sometimes? Do you know that Satan has desired to have you that he may sift you as wheat through some of these witches? That's why we gotta be as wise as a serpent, as harmless as the doves, have our spiritual antennas up, be praying in the Holy Ghost, because the more you pray in the Holy Ghost, the more your battery is charged, and the more sensitive you are to the things of the Spirit.

26:25 Oh, Christus, I, a commandation of a story, mania et aia. I am restoring the limanis, testamande, lebeshe, kia, mania, sarika, lindo, rama, azaia, induriz, avakangade, shishamando, mando, keseite, lennonameshin, anvelenishin, anvelesakatendor, abasorikete. I hear the Lord saying, I am restoring the prayer movement in this region, and in this prayer movement, it's gonna rise up within my church, within my people, like a John 7 38, that out of your innermost being is gonna arise the spirit of grace and supplication, and you're not going to want to think, you're not going to want to say anything in your known language, because you won't know what to say, that which is within you is going to rise and going to come up, and it's going to be big, and it's going to be arisevichenda, like a reservoir, that's what he's saying, rising up within you, and you're going to want to speak in other tongues as my spirit gives you utterance, because you won't know what it is you feel or how to pray, but it's my spirit by your spirit rising up, and as you pray in the Holy Ghost, and you speak those mysteries,

27:57 the enemy won't understand you, but I understand you, says the Lord, and you will demolish strategies of the enemy, things you don't even know that's out there. You will do it in the realm of the spirit, simply by yielding yourselves over unto me, and praying in an unknown tongue, not praying your own will, but praying according to the will of my Father, and as you do, you will see that there will be a movement, a greater movement of my spirit, and out of this movement, and out of this tsunami will come that which you desire, that which you crave, and that is the working of my mighty power, the working of my spirit, for haven't I said in my word that if you call upon me, I will answer you, and I will, I will, I will show you great and mighty things.

29:02 You are in the season of great and mighty things. You have been in a season of warfare, but just remember that what the enemy has meant for the evil, I the Lord have a plan, and I the Lord am gonna turn it around, and it's gonna work in your favor, and it's gonna work for your good. So you're coming into a season of renewal. You're coming into a season of refreshing. You're coming into a season of some great and mighty things. So be sensitive to my spirit, says the Lord, be sensitive to that which I'm doing, be sensitive, and you will see that which you desire in a greater degree and in a greater measure.
