Samson's Riddle
In this episode, we explore the story of Samson from the book of Judges 14 and the lessons it holds for Christians about strength, obedience, character and the consequences of compromise. Samson’s encounter with the lion, the honey, and the Philistines’ deceit reveal both God’s supernatural power and Samson’s human weakness. His life reminds us of the importance of honoring our commitments to God, resisting temptation, controlling our anger, and leaving vengeance in God’s hands. When we play too closely with the enemy, our choices can lead to painful consequences.
More importantly, Samson’s story points to God’s faithfulness even when people fail. Though Samson’s disobedience brought great trouble, he ultimately called upon God, and God gave him strength one final time. His life leaves us with both a warning and an encouragement: if you play with the enemy, you will get burned—but God remains faithful when we turn back to Him.
