(273) “The Multiple Consequences of Disobedience and the Grace to Overcome Temptation”
Every day we are faced with temptation in a constant onslaught from the world and our enemy. So how do we overcome that temptation, and what could happen if we don’t? The Busses have an enlightening discussion about the ripple effect of sin, and share examples of that kind of continuing impact in the Scriptures. Then they give keys to walking in the Spirit to deal with the flesh, and receiving the grace to overcome temptation and to heal from the wounds others caused you when they didn’t overcome their own flesh. You won’t want to miss this vitally important and hope-filled discussion.

00 The Lord wants to give us the grace to obey Him. And it comes by walking in the Spirit. Galatians 5 .16 says, This I say, then walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. Those desires of the flesh are overcome as we walk in the Spirit. God promises in Joel 2 .28 to pour out His Spirit on all humanity. Welcome to Global Outpouring, where we contend for that promise outpouring, we equip for that outpouring, so that we may engage in that very outpouring.
44 I'm Philip Buss. And I'm Sharon Buss. Welcome to the podcast today. We're so glad that you're joining us. We're going to have a discussion today about the multiple consequences of disobedience. Thank you so much for joining us today. We are really blessed to be able to come into your life and that you are becoming a part of our lives as we do these podcasts together. But before we get started, we want to make sure that you are staying in touch with us, that we're staying in touch with you. And to do both of those things, you can go to our website, globaloutpouring .net.
27 And for you to hear from us, click on that teal colored subscribe button that allows you to sign up for whichever of our email lists that you want to be on. Whether you want to hear from us once in a while or all the time, you have selections there for that. And if you're an intercessor, there's one for emergency prayer requests and another one for our prayer letter. So we want to encourage you to join in with what we do by doing those things. And you can also send us feedback at that place. There's a feedback form that you can fill out if you have comments or if you want to tell us something, if you want prayer for something, anything that we can do to help you, to serve you. We want to do that if we possibly can by the leading of the Holy Spirit. And you can also send us an email, feedback at globaloutpouring .org. That will get to us the same way as the feedback form. We'll hear from you and we can respond to you. So we want to just encourage you to stay in contact with us and let us stay in contact with you. We want to know where you're listening from. We just think it's so fun to hear from the nations and the states and the cities. that you're listening from so that we have an idea just who is listening to us. We know that you're out there. So as I was in my devotions this morning, I was being moved by the Holy Spirit to... to look at this idea of the multiple consequences of disobedience.
00 And that goes both ways, really. There's kind of a ripple effect that happens when we fall for temptation. When temptation comes to us, like, what does James 1, 14 and 15 say? But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire... When it has been conceived, gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully grown, brings forth death. That's from the ESV version. So temptation is something that comes to us because of desires that are still hanging out there in our flesh. You know, that soulish part of us that... really hasn't gotten completely, fully submitted to the Lord.
50 And, you know, it affects us personally when we fall, right? But what we don't always realize is the ripple effect, the domino effect, the snowball effect, the chain reaction that happens when we fall into something. It not only affects us and our future, it also affects people around us. Yeah, especially if you're high up in a position in a ministry. Oh, yeah. Because if you're in ministry, you've got a bullseye on your back. That's true. He encourages you to turn your back to sin, but if you sense something that is satanic coming at you from the front, you need to deal with it. Absolutely. Because you can't turn your back on it. It'll get you. Right. And the thing is that turning your back on it in terms of just ignoring it and thinking maybe it'll go away, you've got to deal with it. You've got to deal with it. You've got to deal with the flesh. You've got to say no. No. No. You know, we've walked with the Lord for a long time. And as temptations have been in my life, as the Lord has given me the grace to say no, it gets to a point where it's kind of like a bear trap. You know, that if that thing comes through the door at me, it's like there's an automatic trap door that makes the thing disappear because I have an automatic
20 no. Because I've developed it, okay? Everything is a process. Everything, everything, everything we do. Everything we do in the Christian walk is a process. And, you know, when you're first getting there, it's not 100 % success rate, you know? I'm reminded of that story of, I guess I saw it on somebody's bulletin board in their house, this story of this person who goes like this. I walked down the street. And I fell in a hole and it was so deep I couldn't get out of it. And I cried and I cried and I cried for help and someone came and helped me out. And then the next paragraph is, I walked down the street and I fell in the same hole and I cried and I cried and somebody came and helped me out.
10 And the next paragraph is, I walked down the street and I saw the hole and I fell in it anyway and I cried and cried and somebody came and helped me out. And the next paragraph is, I walked down the street, I saw the hole, and I walked around it. And the next paragraph is, I walked down a different street. Okay? Okay, how many pitfalls did it take to get to that point? That's my whole point. It's a process. We go through. It's a learning process. It's learning to walk in the Spirit so that we don't fulfill the lusts of the flesh, whatever those desires of our flesh are. But what I'm trying to say is that there's this vulnerability area that, you know, we might be really strong when we're feeling good, when we're all prayed up. Oh, yeah. So you get out of a meeting. Right, right. You're getting prophesied over. You know, you're on the top of the world.
13 Yeah, and you're real strong, right? But there are times when we're more vulnerable because of our flesh. Our flesh is weak. You know, it's just flesh. And so there are times when you're vulnerable, and there's an old adage where the initials of the word spell halt. Yeah, if you're hungry, well, that'll do it. Oh, yeah. If you're angry, yeah. What gets a lot of Christians angry quick? Yeah. In your car. Oh, well, that can be one of those. I remember somebody, they had a revenge button on their dashboard, and they would push the, and somebody would take their emotion out. Instead of saying something, they hit the revenge button, you know. Well, that's part of the progress, you know, your process, and you're making progress in your process where you hit a button instead of saying something.
01 I hope he gets well. Well, you know what we tend to do, you know, okay, so you're driving down the highway. Somebody flies by you at 90 miles an hour, and then you say, I wish there was a policeman there. And that's legit. Yeah. That's legit. But then, yeah, I hope he gets caught. And then you rejoice when you see the lights pull him over. Teach him a lesson. But maybe there should be a prayer for that person. Yeah. Maybe we should be saying, Lord, we ask you to go after that person that is practicing lawlessness, that you get that person and bring them into your kingdom and bring them into this process where they will learn not to do this. I'll have to keep working on that one. So we got hungry and angry. Okay, then you're lonely. Yeah. Yeah, lonely is a big one, especially if you've lost a spouse. Oh, my. Yeah, lost a spouse or a girlfriend or grieving over a loss, any kind of a loss, like especially a child, you know, a parent losing a child. It's not supposed to be that way. You know, you're supposed to let your children grow up and they take care of you when you get old and you lose that child in death. And it's horrible.
23 It's horrible. A lot of marriages break up over that. But there's a loneliness. That's a reality. And it can cause issues, right? So we've got hungry, angry, lonely. If you're tired, yeah. You say things when you're tired that you wouldn't do, especially if you're angry. Because if you're tired, that can lean you into anger. Yeah. And hunger can do the same thing. They have a word now for it, hangry. Oh, especially if you're low blood pressure or something. Low blood sugar. Your blood sugar gets down and your emotions can get out of whack. And you can lash out and do something, say something. So H -A -L -T, halt. That's when you need to halt. When you recognize, uh -oh, wait a minute, I'm vulnerable here. I need to be careful. But there's a couple of other ones that I've added to the list. So if you're in pain or if you're sick, you know, People who are sick, if you don't feel well, it's hard to keep self -control. And that's one of those areas that the Holy Spirit wants to work his fruit in us. And self -control is one of those things.
32 And patience is one of those things. And patience and self -control, you know, in the King James, it calls it long suffering. Where you have the grace to put up with stuff. Yeah. When other people are out of sorts. So you have your personal opportunities to get out of sorts, your personal flesh flashes. And then you also have to deal with other people's flesh flashes. Especially those you love. I know. And when you're hungry or angry or lonely or tired, I don't usually get angry unless I'm hungry or tired. That's just me. And you've tasted that. It takes a lot to rattle your cage. It's just pretty good. But, you know, if it's suppertime and, you know, I'm hungry or if I'm too tired to even think about another thing. I can't open another window. Yeah.
29 Yeah. So it's so easy to hurt people. when we have a flesh -flesh. And if you flip it over, think about the times that you've been hurt by other people's flesh -fleshes or things that might have happened to you as a child. If a parent or a sibling or a cousin or a grandparent or an aunt or uncle or a neighbor or a teacher, a pastor, somebody you should be able to trust has harmed you. In some way. Maybe they were just having a flesh -flesh because they were hungry or angry or lonely or tired. Or it could be they just gave in to a temptation to do something that they really should never, ever do. Yeah.
13 When you're talking about temptation, remember we listened to, there was an audio. There was a little, there was a girl, 14 -year -old girl that was spending a lot of time on her phone. Yeah. And she was kind of snapped, her little brother, and her mom asked her to do something. Yeah, it was because they were driving in the car and it was raining so torrentially the mom could hardly see where she was going. And she asked the daughter to look on her GPS to be able to see where's the exit we're supposed to be turning off at. Yeah. And the girl was upset. I don't want to. Yeah. And? And then they got hit by a truck and then the car went spinning and screamed and then all of a sudden she's with Jesus. And why don't you tell the rest of that?
01 Well, she had this experience where Jesus was comforting her and she said, am I dead? He said, for a little while or something like that. She actually died for 12 minutes. She died for 12 minutes. She was clinically dead for 12 minutes. This generation, and when I say generation, I'm talking about everybody that's alive now. Across the board. Yeah, everybody that's alive now has become so overwhelmed with the screen in their hand, whether it's their phone or their tablet or their PC or whatever, that everyone has become so... enamored with their screens and they think that they have achieved better connections with people when all that's really happening is that they're becoming more isolated and not able to really communicate. And, you know, the Lord sent her back with this message to share with other people about, hey, put down your screens. Yeah.
03 And it was the dark figures. Oh, yes, that's right. That would show up. Yeah. And when they're looking at something they shouldn't, they just dance around like we got them. Yeah. And the dark figures were, because they're kind of mesmerized by their screens, the dark figures were able to put ideas into their heads that they didn't have filters for because they were so mesmerized by the screens. Wow. What a lesson. Yeah. So this is a temptation that pretty much everybody, unless you are not into screens, and that's very few people these days. I was convicted when I saw it. I've already cut way, way back on my screen time. Yeah, I think her parents did that.
45 They cut back on their social media. And then the dad left his laptop at work when he came home. And at dinner time, they put their phones in a basket, turned them off. And so they had supper as a family, which is the way it used to be before TV. Right. It's true. It's true. So, you know, God is trying to help us. Get some ideas about the ripple effect, the multiple consequences. One of the things that Jesus showed this girl was he showed her her family together playing a game. And he said, this could have been you tonight if you had not had the screen in front of you. Wow. If she had done what her mother said, they wouldn't have had the accident. Yeah.
37 But Jesus says, I'm giving you another chance. Go back and share this message. And she said that some of her friends thought she was nuts. She lost friends over it. She lost friends over it, but others got the conviction in their hearts that they could get into line with this. So really, God is wanting to restore our relationships with each other and with him. Because, you know, the more time we spend on our screens, the less time we're spending with him, typically. You know, whatever it is that you're watching, it may be perfectly legitimate and okay. But if it's distracting you, it's keeping you from building relationship with the Lord. So, you know, this idea of people that are hurt, you know, if you were hurt as a child by somebody that you should have been able to trust. whether they were having a flesh flash or whether they were absolutely just down the tubes into sin, whatever that is, you know, the Lord wants to heal you of that hurt. Because what happens is when a child is hurt, traumatized, whatever age they are, there's a stunting of the growth. There's a stunting of your emotional development. You get stuck. So when you get under pressure, see these that halt thing when you're hungry, angry, lonely, tired, in pain, sick.
03 Those are times of pressure. Those are times of excess stress that cause you to lose it. You know, you're more likely to lose it under those circumstances. So if you were hurt as a child and you get into those circumstances where you get under that kind of pressure, what is your behavior? Are you behaving like a seven -year -old? Are you behaving like a 12 -year -old or three -year -old? Are you behaving like, do you lose your ability to say anything? Did something happen to you before you even learned how to talk that got you stuck there? So that when you're under pressure, you wind up being unable to communicate.
44 You know, it happens. It happens sometimes. So the point in this episode is that we look at not only what happened to us, but we also look inward at what happens when I lose it and hurt other people. It's about getting the grace of God to overcome temptation and to overcome the flesh flashes, you know, those areas where we just lost it, you know. So remember in a recent episode with Richard from New Zealand, he used this expression, and we've said it before ourselves, hurt people hurt people. So when you're hurt, when you have been violated in some way, when you're hurt, when you've been wounded, it causes this disquiet inside of you that causes you to be more likely to hurt others. Yeah. So God wants to heal you and he wants to heal the hurts, but he also wants to give you the grace to forgive.
51 I had a conversation recently with someone who was saying, you know, I was so hurt by, and she mentioned family members. I was so hurt by them and I'm just still so hurt. I've forgiven them, but I'm still so hurt. And that reminded me of my own experience. And I was able to share this with her where I experienced hurt in my life from a family member. And I was ministered to in just a tremendously high anointed place that the Holy Spirit was moving in a tremendous way. And it was ministered to me that this hurt was so deep in me that it wasn't just going to be healed in a moment, but it was going to take six weeks. for that hurt to be healed. And it was like after that ministry to me, it was like I had amnesia. I completely forgot about the hurt. And it's not like it's something I dwelled on, but it was something that was deep inside of me that was still affecting me at certain points. So for those next six weeks, I was just busy with other things, didn't think about it.
09 And at the end of the six weeks, it was kind of like I woke up. And I thought, oh, I haven't thought about that in a long time. I wonder if it's been six weeks yet. And I counted it back, and sure enough, it had been six weeks. And then I thought about the incident that had hurt me so much, or the incidents and the person, and it was like I could remember the incidents, but it didn't hurt anymore. It didn't make me cry anymore. And that is the goal that the Lord wants us to get healed in those things. But he also wants us to understand as we are going through our life and our processes, when we are tempted to do something, we need to really think about that cause and effect thing. What happens when we lose it? Because you reap what you sow. 7 through 10 say, Make no mistake, God can't be mocked. What you give is what you get. When you sow, you harvest. Those who sow seeds into their flesh will only harvest destruction from their sinful nature. Yeah, that's it. But those who sow seeds into the Spirit shall harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. May we never tire of doing what is good and right before our Lord, because in His season we shall bring in a great harvest.
36 If we can just persist. That's it. So seize any opportunity the Lord gives you to do good things and be a blessing to everyone, especially those within our faithful family. Yeah. If we can just persist. And what translation is that? That is the voice translation. The voice. Yeah. It's a good translation. It's one of the messianic translations. Oh, okay. So if you can just persist. I love that saying. If you don't quit, you win. You're going to win if you just don't quit. You got to keep persisting. Don't quit. Don't quit. So these ideas, there's a few stories in the Bible that give us an understanding of the ripple effect of when we give into temptation. So you've got, obviously, the first one you come to is Eve in the Garden of Eden. And you got this, you got this. And he's busy talking and planting seeds. Seeds of doubt. Seeds of disobedience.
52 You know? You're a great radio person. I wish the listeners could see. You can see what I'm looking at. It's really good. On one of these days, we'll do video. But anyway, you know, he was continuously tempting her and coming at her day after day after day, making these suggestions of, you know, God didn't really mean what he said. What he said. And eventually... You believe it. She got thinking about it. It wasn't in a moment. It wasn't in just that one suggestion.
36 Yeah, this was going on for a while. It probably went on for quite a while. You read in the Bible, you know, and you think that just happened this time. Yeah. No, this was going on for a while. It was a continuous suggestion. Yeah, and you listen long enough. Yeah. You know. Yeah. Yeah, and what that does is it plants seeds of doubt that make you think outside the box of what you've been taught, makes you think outside of what the Word says God said. You know, God said, God said, God said, don't eat of it. But she went on, she'd probably been taught by Adam, because it was Adam that heard from God, don't eat it.
22 He said to her, don't even touch it, because if you don't touch it, you won't eat it. Right. It's kind of adding to what God said. He just said, don't eat it. But if you don't touch it, you'll never eat it. So she was considering and thinking about it and thinking about it and looking at it. And it does look appealing. It does look like something I should try. I would like to be wise like God. Yeah, I think I should do this. And she did it and she gave it to Adam. And Adam was the one who had heard it from God. Don't do it. But he loved her. And sometimes we do stupid things because of love. Things we know better. Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't compromise.
08 But the whole point is she gave in and look at the ripple effect. It's still affecting us today. We are having flash flashes now because Eve gave in to that. That thing that was constantly after her, constantly making suggestions. And that's where you have to get so enamored with the word and in love with our Father. Jesus said, if you love me, keep my commandments. So obedience out of love is a joy. When you come to a place where you're tempted to do something and you make that decision, no, the Bible says I shouldn't do this.
50 I'm not going to do it. End of story. And you say that enough times and it stops. That reminds me of a situation that I had where the accuser of the Brethren was speaking to me about our founder, Sister Gwen, and it happened when I was tired. The end of the day, I'd put our daughter to bed. Phillip had gone to bed already. And I was, you know, it just it takes a woman longer to wind down. There's just things you think you got to do and da da da da da. And I'm tired. And the accuser is whispering to me about Sister Gwen's talking about you behind your back. Sister Gwen's talking about you behind your back. She's saying things that she shouldn't be saying about you. She's telling things. And I'd get angry, and I'd get upset, and I'd go to bed. And you'd go to bed that way. I went to bed angry. And then the next morning, she would greet me lovingly and smiling, and I'm thinking, hmm, is that really true? And this went on for some time. I don't remember how long. But all of a sudden, one night, it was like, oh, I know who this is. This is the accuser of the brethren. And I responded to him and I said, I am too tired to listen to this. And I stopped listening and I stopped taking it into my head. And it wasn't more than two or three nights that he tried it again. And it stopped. Wow. You just have to say no. No. This
25 is not true. And even if it was true, even if it was true. My offense hurts me. Taking offense hurts me. When you take offense and you get angry with a person and you just hold on to that and you hold on to that grudge, it's like drinking poison, hoping the other person will die. Yeah. It's a good expression. Does not work. It's not true. So, you know, there was a tremendous ripple effect from Eve doing what she did. Okay. And Adam too. And then we have Joshua 7. where you have the story of the Battle of Jericho. And God told, I think it was in chapter 6, God told them that you're not to touch anything. This whole thing is cursed. And it was like, I really believe what God was, the big picture of this was that this is the first city you're going to deal with. This is a first fruits thing. And everything belongs to God. It's all supposed to be devoted to God, and he spells it out. Silver and gold is to come into the treasuries, and everything that's the booty, everything that's the spoils, belongs to God. Don't touch it. Don't take it. And then... You know, in the next chapter, they're having this battle against another town, and it's smaller. Whether you pronounce it I or whether you pronounce it AI. AI is another
56 thing. So they thought, ah, this is simple. Let's just take a small company. Well, they didn't win. And something like, was it 36? 36, yeah, they got killed. Yeah. And then they're running for their lives. Like, what happened to our protection? Exactly. What weapons did they have? I don't know what weapons they had. They came out of Egypt. Yeah. And they've been traveling for some years. Well, they had had some battles before, so they probably had gathered some from their enemies previously. But anyway, the point is that Joshua was on his face before God, weeping, you know, word about this is going to get out, and we're toast. And God said, quit your crying.
42 There's sin in the camp. And so they looked into what the problem was, and it turns out that this guy named Achan, whose name means troubler. Yeah, he's a troublemaker. He finally confesses that he was tempted by this beautiful garment. It could have been a robe or a mantle. It could have been a tapestry from Shinar, Babylonian area. And he was tempted by gold and silver. And God said, that all belongs to me. And he took it to himself. He buried the treasure in his tent. So that makes me think that his family must have known. And that's why they also had to be destroyed with him, because they were just as guilty. You know, guilt by association, but they were part of it. So there's long -lasting effects. from this troubler. Yeah, it says Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant. Exactly. So that's what God said. There's sin in the camp, and it says in verse 1 of Joshua 7, but the children of Israel committed a trespass regarding the cursed things. So God is holding the entire nation for one person's guilt. Yeah.
07 Wow. So when we're being tempted, And we all get tempted. Come on. We all get tempted to do things we shouldn't do. When you get tempted, you need to start thinking about the ripple effect. It's one thing if I do this one thing myself, but it's not only going to be me that's affected. It's going to affect my family. It's going to affect my future. Aiken, his whole family went down. His whole family were killed. There's nobody in the scripture that's the son of Achan that lives on. All the generations were wiped out.
47 They're all wiped out, the whole family. So there's no continuing family. So when we choose to do something we shouldn't do, there's an effect on our family, there's an effect on our future, and there can be an effect on the whole nation. Yeah. He was just one person doing one thing that he shouldn't do, but it affected the whole nation. 36 people died, okay? Those 36 people might have been fathers of children in the future if they had lived. Yeah, sure. So it's making an effect on more than just you. Think about that when you're being tempted. So let's look at David. with Bathsheba. So David's sin with Bathsheba led into murder. He had Bathsheba's husband killed so that he could make it look like she got pregnant from him instead of from David, right? He was trying to get Bathsheba's husband to go spend time with his wife. And he wouldn't do it. He was too loyal. He said, the armies of Israel don't get to be with their wives.
05 It's not fair for me to get time with mine. And in the beginning of the scripture, it says it was at the time when kings go to war. Yeah, he should have been there. He should have been there. His eyes went someplace they shouldn't have been. He already had a wife. He had several wives. Right. Yeah, really. But here's what was unleashed. What was unleashed by his sin is one of his sons, Amnon, begins lusting after his half -sister, Tamar. And he ends up raping her. Right. So here is illicit sex going on from dad, and it's affecting his son. The spirit was unleashed into his household.
52 Okay? Yeah. And the spirit of murder was unleashed into his household when he had Uriah the Hittite, Bathsheba's husband, killed. Had him at the front line where the battle was hot. Yeah. So I'm surmising that because David already had this guilt over taking Bathsheba as his wife, that he didn't deal with Amnon. because, you know, he's feeling kind of guilty. You know, how can I deal with him when I did the same thing? Okay. So then Absalom takes matters into his own hands to murder his brother for what he did to his sister. And then Absalom eventually winds up raising an insurrection against his father and then losing his life.
42 So David's sin with Bathsheba. It just legally opened, spiritually opened up an open door. Exactly. Exactly. So the Lord wants to give us the grace to obey him. And it comes by walking in the spirit. Galatians 5 .16 says, This I say, then walk in the spirit and you shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. Those desires of the flesh are overcome as we walk in the spirit. Yeah, we keep our focus. Yeah. So the Passion Translation gives us some help on this subject. In James 1, verses 12 to 27, Philip, would you read that, please?
27 If your faith remains strong while surrounded by life's difficulties, you'll continue to experience the untold blessings of God. True happiness comes as you pass the test with faith. and receive the victorious crown of life promised to every lover of God. When you are tempted, don't ever say, God is tempting me. For God is incapable of being tempted by evil and he is never the source of temptation. Instead, it is each person's own desires and thoughts that drag them into evil and lure them away into darkness. Evil desires give birth to evil actions. And when sin is fully mature, it can murder you. So, my friends, don't be fooled by your own desires. Every gift God freely gives us is good and perfect, streaming down from the Father of lights, who shines from the heavens with no hidden shadow or darkness and is never subject to change. God was delighted to give us birth by the truth of his infallible word, so that we would fulfill his chosen destiny for us and become the favored ones out of all his creation. So we're designed by our Father to walk with Him, to walk with His Spirit, to let His engrafted Word work on our flesh so that we surrender. We surrender our flesh to Him.
55 We give it to Him. We take of the grace that comes from His Word. We take of the grace that comes from His presence. that comes when we're worshiping him, when we're in fellowship with him. That grace will help us to say no to temptation, to say no to sin, and to say no to the hurts that we've received from others. You know, when Jesus was on the cross, Isaiah 53 talks about He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon him, and by his stripes we're healed. Those wounds are every kind of wound. And the grief that he bore, surely he bore our grief and carried our sorrow. So anything that we take from him, as we understand it, we take salvation. Because we know that he has done it on the cross. He has paid for it on the cross.
00 All of these things he's paid for. So maybe you've just experienced his salvation, his knowing that you can be saved because of what he paid for. But all of these things were paid for. Maybe you haven't even experienced that. Maybe you're saying, I need to get saved. Kind of like when you started a 21 -day fast and you're three days into it and realize, I got to get saved. Okay, maybe you haven't even been born again yet. All of these things were paid for, including being healed of wounds that we've received, including having him come into our lives so that The one who said from the cross, Father, forgive them, they know not what they do. His grace to be able to say, Father, forgive them, comes into us to enable us to say, Father, forgive them, and I forgive them. I give this to you. I release them.
00 I release them from the hurt and the pain that they caused me, and I receive of your healing virtue. And all of the stuff that was lost in the time from the time that you got hurt, and maybe it was as a child, from the time you got hurt until now, all of that lost time, he can restore. He can restore you like he did for me in those six weeks of not even thinking about it. And he healed me of the pain. The pain was gone. I did not. have any reason to cry anymore. It was healed. I had already forgiven, but I was healed. And the Lord wants to do that for you today to give you the grace to forgive and to heal from hurts and to give you the grace to overcome temptation. Because our Father is not the one that's tempting us, but the temptation is coming to us to really check us out if we're going to follow the Lord or not. And so it's time to walk down a different street and not give in to that place where we've fallen and fallen and fallen. And the Lord helps us out every time. It's time for us to walk where we don't even go down that street anymore. So, Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we thank you for the grace that comes from your Spirit.
31 to enable us to receive this healing virtue and this healing that comes deep into our souls where we've been wounded, where we've been wounded even by what Adam and Eve did back in the Garden of Eden. Lord, that wounding that has come down all through our DNA, all these many generations, you Jesus paid the price for us to be able to walk away from temptation and say, nope. not for me. I'm not going there. That is not the real me. The real me is my spirit. The real me is wedded to the Holy Spirit. I'm one with the Holy Spirit, and I'm going to walk in the spirit and not in the flesh. Lord, we thank you for that great grace being released to our listeners right now in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
26 Receive that healing now. Just receive. Just receive. It's kind of like somebody offering you a plate of cookies. You just reach out and you take one. Thank you, Father. We thank you for this great grace. In Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. If you enjoyed today's podcast, please subscribe, rate, and review this podcast on Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen to podcasts.
